For the first time in 1 year and 8 months, ALL of our boarders went home yesterday, and we don’t have another boarder checking in until tomorrow morning!
We only had our standing reservation pups on the calendar for today, so thankfully, y’all were understanding when I reached out and asked you to cancel. Our decision was originally made out of caution because of the bad weather we thought we were going to get. The goal was simply to keep our employees safe and off the roads, but as you can see, the weather ended up being just fine! This actually created a really weird 24 hours where absolutely nobody has to worry about anything!
Y’all know we’re always here 7 AM–9 PM, 365 days a year, so this is basically a unicorn sighting lol. For once, ALL of our staff gets a day to themselves, and as owners, Greg and I get a little breathing room, too. We’re going to enjoy this rare moment of peace while we can! Kind of lol. I’m lying.
Between all this rain and the wind, the yards have accumulated an absolutely unreasonable number of sticks, acorns, and random trash. Naturally, your dogs think sticks are the greatest snacks known to man, so we need to get those cleaned up before everyone comes back. A few sticks are fine, but with the amount of sticks… we’re freaking dying chasing them lol.
We also have a few more people coming out to give us quotes for expanding the backyard. Apparently, our current 7,000 SQFT spread across two yards, plus the time-out run, plus the holding area, and plus the side yard just isn’t enough for some people. We genuinely thought that was a pretty decent amount of space for everything, given we have a max capacity of 30 dogs with 7+ employees a day, with multiple people in each yard, but when someone keeps screaming and crying on social media about it, we hear the feedback! We’re looking into our options and getting more quotes tomorrow to expand the backyard. We had someone take a tree down, but they never came back lol.
Greg’s truck will be in the driveway tomorrow, but please don’t come by.
VERY EXPLICIT WARNING behind that. A very real possibility that Greg will be naked at some point. After wearing a uniform everyday for 13 years, he just does his own thing now lol. So please, for the love of all things you believe in, do not come knocking, do not peek through the windows, and do not make this weird. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. You will actually pay your therapist that $200 x90. And if you accidentally catch a glimpse of something you weren’t supposed to see, please do not tell the authorities that you witnessed a crime bc… you committed it lol.
In all seriousness, this is an incredibly rare opportunity for us as owners AND for our entire staff to have a full day off together. We work hard to care for your babies every single day, and we’re grateful to have this little window to catch up on things and let everyone enjoy some well-deserved time off.
