Training isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about building skills that last.

I’m excited to introduce training packages, created to provide structure, accountability, and meaningful progress for both dogs and their humans.

From foundational skills to long-term behavior transformation, these options are designed to meet you where you are and guide you forward with clarity and support.

And as always, referrals are the greatest compliment. 🐾

Louie and I stopped by Tilted Heads Pet Bakery & Coffee Shop again today for a coffee and a cookie and ended up staying to brush up on his public manners too ☕🐾

Louie’s always been a great boy, but with his older age I’ve gotten a little relaxed on the rules. Tilted Heads gave us the perfect environment to work on staying calm and relaxed in a public space, plus a yummy cookie for him, which never hurts 😉

I want to show some love to a small business that truly gets it, amazing treats and goodies for your pups, plus coffee and baked goods for humans. 🐾☕

As a dog trainer and dog mom, I’m super picky about what my dogs eat, and their treats are the best I’ve found. And as an avid coffee drinker, being able to grab my caffeine fix while stocking up on treats for my dogs and clients is a huge bonus.

If you love supporting small businesses and spoiling your pups (and yourself), this spot is a must!

Nobody really talks about the heartbreak that comes with owning a small business.
They don’t talk about the days when the door doesn’t open. When the lobby is quiet. When the bell doesn’t ring. When sales don’t come in, but the bills never stop coming.
They don’t talk about the nights you lie awake trying to figure out how to keep the lights on, how to bring new products through the door, how to stretch what little you have left. The loans are maxed out. You look for other ways. You keep trying. You keep pushing.
We are determined. We are still here.
But some days, it feels like we’re holding on by a strand of hair—trying to stay positive, trying to believe that when markets pick back up, when the busy season comes, things will finally breathe again. The hardest part is figuring out how to hold on until then.
This is the behind-the-scenes of a small business.
The empty moments. The uncertainty. The emotional weight that quietly takes a toll on your mental health some days.
We don’t share this for pity. We share it because it’s real. Because small businesses are run by real people with real fears, real hopes, and a whole lot of heart poured into what they do.
If you’ve supported us, shared a post, stopped in, or even just cheered us on—thank you more than you know. We’re still here. Still fighting. Still believing. 💛

I want to share why I’ve been quieter lately. I’ve taken time off to care for my dog, Dru, who has been facing some serious health challenges.

Dru is part of the heart behind The Pawsitive Path, she’s on my business card because she played a huge role in giving me the courage to start this business.

While I continue to take things day by day, I’m hopeful and planning to slowly take on a small number of training clients again. As long as she’s having good days, I know I still have the capacity to support others and their pups. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and trust 🤍

POV: You’re a dog trainer trying to film a counter-conditioning demo for a client, but your dog’s already graduated to engage/disengage. So instead of reacting, she’s just calmly looking at you like, “We’ve evolved, mother.”

✨ Deaf Dog Awareness (belated but worth sharing!) ✨

In 2016, I adopted Louie knowing just one thing: he was deaf.
What I didn’t know was how to actually raise and train a deaf dog.

The best advice I got before bringing him home was:
👉 “Whatever you do, just stay consistent. They’ll pick up on what you stay consistent with.”

Sounds simple but it stuck with me. If you want your dog to sit when you spin in a circle, spin until they sit, then reward. It’s not about the spin, it’s about consistency.

That one piece of advice shaped how I trained Louie and eventually how I train all my client dogs. Deaf or hearing, the foundation is the same: bond, engagement, and clear communication.

💡 Deaf dogs aren’t harder to train. In many ways, they’re just like hearing dogs, once they trust you and know what you’re asking, you can work through almost anything together.

Deaf dogs will always hold a special place in my heart. 💙

If you have a deaf dog, are thinking about adopting one, or just want to learn more about their training, reach out! I’d love to meet them and share more tips.

🐾 Tuesday Tip: The Power of Pack Walks 🐾
Pack walks are more than just exercise, they’re a chance to practice calm socialization.

✅ Dogs walk side-by-side, which reduces pressure compared to face-to-face greetings.
✅ Builds confidence for shy pups and helps reactive dogs learn to exist around others peacefully.
✅ Encourages a calmer state of mind through the rhythm of walking together.

Pack walks = tired body + tired mind = a happier dog 🐶

Tuesday Tip- Midday walks matter

Your schedule is busier but your dog’s needs aren’t any smaller. 🐾

Midday walks offer so much more than just a potty break:
• Help burn off excess energy (hello, less destruction!)
• Provide essential mental stimulation
• Give your pup a chance to socialize and explore

A little walk during the day means fewer accidents, calmer evenings, and a happier, healthier dog, making your back-to-school season a whole lot smoother.

Ready to give your pup the midday break they deserve? Send me a DM!

🌿 Mindful Monday 🌿

Back-to-school means big changes for the whole family, including your pup. 🐶💛

Long hours alone can cause boredom, anxiety, and even unwanted behaviors. But midday walks are more than just exercise, they’re a chance for your dog to feel seen, loved, and mentally engaged while you’re away.

This school year, give your furry friend something to look forward to. A little walk can make a big difference.

📩 DM me to create a midday routine that keeps tails wagging and hearts happy.

🐾 Feature Friday: Meet Your Trainer 🐾

Hey friends! I realized some of you may know me as the person who shows up to walk or train your pup, but not much else, so let’s fix that!

👋 I’m Chelsea, the face (and treats) behind The Pawsitive Path. I’ve been working with animals since 2016 and became CPDT-KA certified in 2020. That’s a fancy way of saying I’m a big believer in positive reinforcement, patience, and making training a fun experience for you and your dog.

When I’m not helping pups master their leash manners or showing them new tricks, you can usually find me:
☕ sipping coffee,
🌿 enjoying the outdoors,
🤘 rocking out at a metal show, or
🏒⚽ catching a hockey or soccer game (bonus points if it’s live and loud).

Fun fact: Even a casual walk with me is more than just a walk, it’s mental enrichment, skill-building, and love wrapped into one.

Your dog isn’t “just a job” to me, they’re part of my extended furry family. 🐕❤️

📸 Drop a photo of your pup below! I’d love to say hi!

Tuesday Tip: Give Yourself Grace

Maybe you’re not hitting the goals you set.
Maybe your schedule is stretched too thin.
Maybe today, you just need to rest.

As dog guardians, we work hard to meet our dogs’ needs. Walks, enrichment, structure, love. But how often do we check in with ourselves?

You don’t have to do it all, all the time. Skipping a training walk today doesn’t make you a bad dog parent, it might make you a better one, if it means showing up more fully tomorrow.

Grace. Rest. Perspective. You deserve that, too.
