Training is a process. The “no” followed by “no payment” communicates to Cash that a change in his choice needs to be made. He knows “sit” and
“down”. I’m asking him to listen and not guess.
With each reset he tunes in a little more. When Cash experiences success he gets a high energy celebration and a huge payout. Communicating that being very tuned in yields the highest rewards. Cash never experiences any adverse consequences. Even the “no” makes his tail wag.
Even after mistakes my voice sounds cheerful, playful and rewarding. However, 1 am clear on what is getting paid and what is not. The feedback, the “yes” and “no” help guide Cash in the right direction.

I took Abigail to a class last night. I wasn’t sure what to expect from her. She’s adjusted well to life with me and my dogs and my cats. However, I was curious how’d she do on leash in a setting like this. A group class style setting. She did great. It helps that we were surrounded by competent handlers. She also got to sniff out a rat. I’ll post a video of that soon. She’s totally exhausted this morning. It was good exercise.
