St. Louis Veterinary Center Located in the heart of South City, St. Louis Veterinary Center provides for all of your pet’s needs. So, here we are!

Our Story

Dr. Philip started his journey that led him to his own clinic by helping with shelters in the area, both in the city and in the county, and working with the animal protective association of Missouri. He worked with many rescue groups and piloted his own spay/neuter project. While working with all these shelters, he noticed that there was not a veterinarian located on Grand, which was a busy area that many pet owners lived in. He opened at the very end of 1991/beginning of 1992.

🐈‍⬛🌯 Maliketh: 10/10 Chin Scritches, 0/10 Kitty Purrito

Maliketh has an important announcement:

Chin scritches? YES. 😻
Being wrapped up like a tiny kitty burrito? Absolutely not. 🌯🙅‍♂️

He was happily enjoying the royal chin-scratch treatment… right up until we introduced him to the Purrito 3000. 😂

His face says it all:
"I was promised scritches. Nobody said anything about being the filling." 😾

But honestly, can you blame him? Those little whiskers and that grumpy face are just too cute! 🖤🐾

🐈‍⬛ KIWI HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT BLACK CAT SUPERSTITIONS… 🐈‍⬛😂

“Excuse me… WHAT did you just say about black cats being bad luck?!” 😾

Kiwi would like to formally address this ridiculous rumor:

❌ Bad luck? Absolutely not.
❌ Spooky? Maybe… but only because we can disappear into the darkness. 👀
❌ Unlucky? Please.

✅ CUTE
✅ LOVING
✅ HANDSOME
✅ PROFESSIONAL SNUGGLER
✅ BRINGER OF GOOD LUCK 🖤✨

In fact, if black cats were really bad luck, we're pretty sure Kiwi wouldn't be standing here looking THIS adorable. 😂

October is Black Cat Celebration Month at STL Vet Center, and we're spending the month showing some love to the beautiful, hilarious, mysterious, and VERY misunderstood black cats out there. 🐈‍⬛🖤

So if you see a black cat this month, don't cross the street… stop and admire them. 😍

And Kiwi would appreciate it if you could stop spreading the slander. 😂

🐾🏆 PATIENT SPOTLIGHT: FINN! 🏆🐾

Some accomplishments deserve a BIG celebration—and Finn’s first agility run is definitely one of them! 🎉💙

Finn has been working SO hard, putting in the time, learning new skills, and practicing like the goodest boy he is. And then came the big day… HIS FIRST AGILITY RUN! 🥹🐶

And just LOOK at that proud face! 😍
He may have only completed his first run, but we're pretty sure Finn already knows he's a champion. 🏅😂

We absolutely LOVE seeing our patients doing what they love outside of the clinic. Whether they're athletes, couch potatoes, adventure dogs, professional treat testers, or all of the above—we're here cheering them on! 📣🐾

Way to go, Finn! Keep up the hard work, buddy! 💙🏆

🐆🖤 October’s Black Cat Spotlight: Meet Midnight! 🖤🐆

October is all about celebrating BLACK CATS here at STL Vet Center! 🐈‍⬛🖤

But this month, we wanted to take our black-cat appreciation a little bigger…

Meet Midnight — a BLACK LEOPARD who calls the National Tiger Sanctuary near Branson, Missouri home! 🐆🌙

Yes… a leopard. 😍
And yes… she is absolutely stunning.

National Tiger Sanctuary is a nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to providing lifelong care and permanent homes for rescued wildlife, while also educating visitors about animal welfare, conservation, and the incredible animals in their care.

And their story is pretty incredible.

The sanctuary began with five beloved sibling tiger cubs — Max, Vincent, Paul, Dee and TJ. Their founders, Judy McGee and Keith Kinkade, cared for those five tigers and saw firsthand the challenges faced by captive and wild tigers. What started with those five cubs eventually grew into a sanctuary where rescued animals could have safety, care and a forever home.

Today, Midnight is one of the many incredible residents there. 🖤

And if you're looking for something fun to do this fall, National Tiger Sanctuary is located just north of Branson, and they offer several guided tour experiences where you can learn about the animals, their individual stories, conservation, and what goes into caring for rescued wildlife. 🐅🐆🦁

So if you're heading toward Branson this fall, add this one to your list! 🍂

You might just leave with a new favorite animal… and a whole new appreciation for the work that goes into giving rescued wildlife a safe place to call home. 🖤

🐾 Learn more & plan your visit:

And while you're there, keep an eye out for Midnight! 🌙🐆

🐶😂 THE PITTY SMILE HAS ARRIVED! 😂🐶

Everyone, please meet Graham, who has apparently decided that the best way to pose for his vet visit is to give us the biggest, happiest, most ridiculous PITTY SMILE imaginable. 🥹❤️

Those ears.
That nose.
THOSE TEETH. 😂
And that face that says, “Yes, I am a very good boy. Please admire me.”

Honestly, we could look at this smile all day. 🥰🐾

🐶 Rory has entered the Gentle Leader era! 😂💙

Look at this gorgeous girl absolutely rocking her Gentle Leader like the fashion icon she is! ✨🐾

For some dogs, a Gentle Leader can be a helpful tool for improving leash control and making walks more enjoyable. And Rory? She’s giving us a very serious “I know I look fabulous” face. 😂

We love getting to see all the different personalities that walk through our doors—and Rory definitely brought the personality! 🥰🐕

🌟🐾 MEET THE STAFF MONDAY! 🐾🌟

Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of the friendly faces you’ll often see at our front desk — Christina! 💕📞

Christina has been working in the veterinary field for OVER 30 YEARS! 🤯🐾 That’s three decades of caring for pets, helping clients, and keeping things moving behind the scenes. We are so lucky to have her on our team! ❤️

When Christina isn’t at the clinic, you can find her enjoying her favorite role of all — being a Gaga to her grandbabies! 🥰👶💕 She also loves baking (we’re hoping the team gets to be taste-testers 😉🧁) and especially enjoys educating our clients and helping them better understand how to keep their pets happy and healthy.

Christina brings years of experience, compassion, and plenty of knowledge to our team, and we’re so grateful for everything she does! 🐶🐱💗

Help us give Christina a big THANK YOU in the comments! 👇🥰

🐱💕 BEANS HAS ENTERED THE CHAT! 💕🐱

Everyone say hello to Beans! 🫘🐾 And yes… that face is EXACTLY as adorable as the name suggests. 😍

Beans stopped by for a visit and clearly decided that being held was the only acceptable way to spend the day. Just look at those big golden eyes, perfect whiskers, and sweet little face! 🥹❤️

We’re pretty sure Beans knows exactly how to turn on the charm at the vet clinic. 😻✨

🐩✨ COCO IS READY FOR HER CLOSE-UP! ✨🐩

Everyone say hello to Coco, who came in for her booster visit and decided that our lobby chairs were the PERFECT place for a little photo shoot. 😂📸

Look at those fluffy ears, fabulous feet, and that adorable little topknot! 🎀🐾 Coco was looking like she was waiting for her name to be called at the fanciest salon in town. 💅🏼😂

We always love seeing our patients come in for their preventative care—and getting a few adorable pictures while they're here is just a bonus! ❤️🩺

🐾💜 LOOK WHO CAME TO VISIT! 💜🐾

Meet Kali, who just had her FIRST kitten visit with us—and we are already completely obsessed! 😍🐱

But wait… does she look a little familiar? 👀

If you’ve been following along with us for a while, you might recognize her because her brother Odin has been featured on our social media a few times! 🥹💕 It looks like the adorable family genes are STRONG!

Kali was absolutely precious during her visit and clearly understood that the exam table is the perfect place to show off. 😹✨

We can’t wait to watch this little girl grow up! Welcome to the STL Vet Center family, Kali! 🐾💗
