Scrub a dub dub, one corgi in the tub!

Did you know?

Conditioning puppies early on to be comfortable getting groomed will help them be more comfortable as adults?

Even if they don’t “need” a bath, groom, brushing as a puppy, it’s still extremely important they’re exposed to it frequently with lots of positive association.

That way when they do end up needing a bath, they’re comfortable and confident about it! Less stress for the dog, less stress for you!

He’s a super smart and sweet man, but has some big feelings & thats ok!

This handsome boy is a 7 month who’s hanging out with us for the weekend and learning some leash manners. This boy has learned that pulling until he is coughing will make his parent move faster to follow him so he doesn’t hurt himself.

We played the 180 game to help him relearn that CHOKING yourself is not the way to go. He learned to slip out of harnesses and due to his retained winter body, it’s very easy for him to escape even a well fitted harness. He’s like a slippery fish!

His humans have been using a limited slip lead and we continued our training with that while we change his routine from free fed to feeding measured amounts on a schedule. *He’s being ordered a special ordered more adjustable harness to ensure further safety. Plus, we added getting rewarded with treats, praise and/or toys for the behaviors we would prefer to see!

This is very smart and caught on to the behaviors very quickly. Good job Dexter!

Did you know? Not all dogs that wear muzzles are aggressive!

Some wear muzzles because:
They eat things off the ground that they shouldn’t
They’re fearful in stressful situations like the vet
Some owners just prefer to use one
The owners are working through fearful behaviors and feel safer with a muzzle
