Today one of our long time furbabies has recieved his wings. Buster is 15 and we have helped care for him for many years, through 1 move and 2 new additions to his family! He is a little stinker when it came to eating random things, especially socks and while he never really liked walking past storm drains he did well to overcome his fear. He is a lover and I know he will contiue to watch over his family from above. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ πŸΆπŸ±πŸ’œ I have a question for all my pet parents.
So my In Home Pet Care Services originally started off as part of my 'Odds & Ends Jobs Services' business plan until I started to see the constant request for Pet Care and switched to that being my primary service.
I have been playing with the idea of adding 'Household Aid' back to the services provided, for just small things around the house, mostly aiming to assist single parents or older folks who just need an extra hand for task without breaking the bank that is probably already stretched.

The thought came to me when I recalled a past event where I assisted an older lady who just needed her burnt out light bulbs changed. She was in a wheelchair and didn't have anyone to assist her, so she called around and found that people would charge her at least $80 just to change her light bulb. When I heard this, I called her back and offered to stop by after work to help her. I did changed the bulb and did a few other bits around the house for $20.

What does everyone think? Would you call or recommend me to others if I added this service back? Of course, PetCare would still be my number one priority.πŸ’œ πŸΆπŸ±πŸ’œ

After 9/11, search and rescue dogs worked day and night at Ground Zero.

They were trained to find survivors in disasters.

But in the rubble of the World Trade Center, there were very few survivors to find.

As the days went on, the dogs started to look confused. Some got depressed. They were used to finding people. And now, they weren’t.

Handlers noticed this and decided to help.

Sometimes, they staged fake rescues.

A firefighter or handler would hide in the debris. The dog would find them. They’d act like it was a real rescue.

This gave the dog a sense of success. It lifted their spirits.

These dogs were not just working hard. They were emotionally affected too.

They were part of the team. And they needed support, just like everyone else.
