🚨***NO MEET AND GREET TODAY***🚨

We tried to update our website and thought it had gone through but the website did not update. We are in the process of updating it. We are no longer doing meet and greets at Petco in St. Charles. Starting April 18th, all meet and greets will be at Pet Supplies Plus in St Charles from 12pm-2pm the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

Georgie, Porgie, Puddin, and Pie 🐾💕

These four little nuggets officially turned 4 weeks old on Thursday and are soaking up all the important baby lessons with mom 💗

Right now, their days are filled with:
✨ Learning how to walk (wobbly steps included)
✨ Figuring out how to play with each other
✨ Starting to explore real food
✨ Snuggling up with mom

Their ears opened up this past week, so now every little sound has them doing the cutest tiny jumps 🥹

Each of them weighs right around 1 lb, and they are still very much in their baby era. They’ll need a couple more weeks before they’re ready for the next step, so they are NOT available just yet.

And before we get asked (because we always do 😉)…
👉 We do NOT know their breed — but we promise they are 100% adorable.

🐶 “What breed are they?” — Let’s talk about it and play a game 👀

We get this question ALL the time… and the honest answer is: most of the time, we truly don’t know.

The majority of dogs that come into our rescue are strays with unknown backgrounds. While we can sometimes make an educated guess based on looks, behavior, or size, it’s just that — a guess. And guesses can be very wrong 😅

DNA testing every dog isn’t realistic for us (and honestly, not necessary). The DNA results you occasionally see posted were generously paid for by adopters of littermates, fosters, or donors. Even then, results can take 4–6 weeks… and we’re hoping these pups find their homes long before that 💛

At the end of the day, breed mix doesn’t always define the personality, temperament, or how amazing a dog will be in your home. We do our best to match the dog to a home, regardless of breed.

🚨 582 DAYS. That’s how long Dexter has been waiting. 🚨

582 days of watching other dogs get adopted, wondering when it will finally be his turn, as people scroll on past him.

Meet Dexter. 🧡
A 35-lb brindle Boxer mix with the most expressive face, adorable underbite, big personality, and a heart that has fought hard to trust the world again.

Dexter’s story didn’t start out easy. He was found alone at a rural gas station, at only 4-5 months old scared and confused. No one came looking for him. Likely dumped because he had that classic boxer energy and no one wanted to put in the time.

When he first came into rescue, Dexter was terrified. He didn’t know what toys were and everything felt scary but with patience, structure, and love… Dexter transformed.

He’s now a goofy, hilarious, loyal little guy who will make you laugh every single day.

Dexter’s greatest hits:
🧡 Gorgeous brindle coat and the most expressive boxer face
🧡 Only 35 lbs – the perfect medium size
🧡 Crate trained & potty trained
🧡 LOVES toys (he had to make up for lost time)

Dexter does have some OCD behaviors (common in boxers), which he takes medication for, and it helps him feel more relaxed and balanced.

Our sweet Earl 💔🐾

Earl lived life for the simple things — tail wags, butt scratches, and being close to the people who loved him most.

He spent the last three years in sanctuary care, wrapped in the kind of love every dog deserves. When Earl first came to us, he was diagnosed with a grade 5 heart condition. We were told — and truly believed — that we might only have a year with him.

But Earl had other plans.

In a home filled with patience, comfort, and unwavering love, he gave us three beautiful years. Three years of quiet moments, gentle companionship, and the kind of resilience that only dogs seem to carry so effortlessly.

Today, his foster mom came home to find that Earl had passed peacefully in his sleep, curled up in his bed. This morning, before she left, she gave him cuddles and tucked him in — just like always.

He left this world exactly how he lived in it — safe, loved, and at peace.

Run free, sweet boy. You were so very loved. 🐾💙
