So let me be clear about this The Home Depot Cat situation.
At the very base of this debacle is human choice. The cats matter. Of course they matter. But as always, the choices we face every day, and the consequences of those choices are at the heart of this situation. The store manager, Rachel, had a choice. She could choose to approach the feeder and say “hey management has changed and these cats need to be gone.” the feeder still would’ve been upset, but she could’ve wrangled all the cats with the help of local resources and found somewhere else for them to go, but Rachel chose not to do that. She made a choice to go behind the feeders back and trap these cats after they’ve been there for six years. Rachel made this choice for herself and for the Home Depot corporation. Did she have the right to have the cats removed from the property? Yes. So everyone who is on her side about that, you are correct. However, there was another way to go about this and no one would’ve ever heard her name. No one would be dragging Home Depot through the mud. Rachel could’ve chosen kindness, and instead she chose malice so when you’re out and about in your daily life, remember that your choices matter. Your words matter. There’s already too much bad in the world. There’s too many disgusting things going on. So as cliché as it sounds, choose kindness.
‼️THE RANCH RESCUE STANDS BEHIND ALL COMMUNITY CATS AND ALL COMMUNITY CAT FEEDERS!
At The Ranch Rescue, we are more than just a rescue. We are a resource for our community, a voice for the voiceless, and advocates for those who dedicate their time to helping animals in need.
To every community cat feeder who gets up early, stays out late, spends their own hard-earned money, and shows up every single day to make sure these cats have food, water, and someone looking out for them — WE SEE YOU. WE APPRECIATE YOU. AND WE STAND BEHIND YOU!
Your dedication does not go unnoticed. Your compassion matters, and the lives you touch matter.
Community cats did not choose to live on the streets. Many are there because of abandonment, irresponsible ownership, and the lack of accessible spay and neuter resources.
While The Ranch Rescue is not a feeding organization, we proudly support the compassionate individuals who care for these cats. Through education, TNR, rescue efforts, and community resources, we believe in working together toward humane, long-term solutions.
There is no room for bullying, harassment, or intimidation of people simply trying to do the right thing for animals.
❤️ To our community cat caregivers: THANK YOU. You are making a difference, even when nobody is watching.
🐾 The Ranch Rescue stands with you. Today, tomorrow, and always.
BE THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS.
