We are supporting a fundraiser this weekend for Barn Cat Outreach, a nonprofit devoted to the well being of feral/community cats by spaying and neutering, vaccinating, and releasing them back to their caregivers. Barn Cat Outreach has an amazing group of volunteers who support their efforts and share their passion for this important mission.
This Saturday, March 2, at 1 Maple Ave. in Cohocton there will be an open house and basket auction from 11-1 to view their facility, meet the caring folks who devote their time to this important cause, and admire the awesome baskets being auctioned.
Visit the Barn Cat Outreach page for a peek of those baskets in advance!

In addition to the list of amenities we provide to our guests, each morning begins with soft conversation and quiet care as we commence room service and housekeeping tasks.
It’s a lovely way for all of us to start our day. ❤️

A bonus to my morning mile. 🥰Zoom in to see the fawn.

The post about Barn Cat Outreach’s request is not only from my daughter’s organization, but a critical reminder of why we require full, updated vaccines for all our guests without exception.
The virus threats are real.

Sadly, feline distemper/parvovirus/panleukopenia has entered one of our very few foster homes, and we are devastated...despite our very best efforts & with the help of our veterinary professionals and fellow rescuers that have been through this, two of our kittens did succumb to this highly contagious, deadly disease. Thankfully, the mother cat and four week old siblings should be out of the woods 👐 And our other litter there (in a separate area) remains symptom-free.
Unfortunately, for this foster, it means her summer will be spent cleaning and disinfecting her home instead of saving susceptible kittens' lives and, friends, we need your help in order to help her so one day she can open her home to fostering again. It is especially tough because she is one of the few experienced bottle feeders around, but unvaccinated babies are the most susceptible to the virus 😔
Barrie C. is not only a wonderful human, but has fostered around 300 (‼️) cats and kittens in the last handful of years for a half dozen organizations, including ours. She has also provided education and outreach services to pet parents in need, including access to veterinary services, supplies, and mentoring bottle baby caretakers.... saving hundreds of more lives ♥
Barrie has assisted SO many on her own, and now needs and 100% deserves the favor returned more than ever. After much research, this list has been compiled with items necessary for deep-cleaning in her home (a future supply-drive will be launched to replace the many fostering items she has to throw away that may be contaminated as well, but that will be down the road). Items ordered from the wish list will be shipped directly to her home, so she can begin the cleaning process asap

If you'd prefer to send a monetary gift towards the purchase of supplies, you may do that via this post, venmo , PayPal [email protected], or mail a check to PO Box 11 Springwater NY 14560. ANY amount is so appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support!

One of the many joyful aspects of running a feline bed and breakfast is the opportunity to meet so many interesting people.
We love learning about their families, careers, interest, and travels as we care for their precious babies.
As part of that care, we require that every guest is fully vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and leukemia (or has the bloodwork done within 30 days of check-in to insure a negative leukemia test).
We also require actual veterinary records - not just completed paperwork - along with a signed boarding contract and other information well in advance of check-in to provide us with the best information possible so we can provide the best care possible.
The well-being of each guest is paramount, and our diligence in insisting each required box is checked truly matters to the high quality of our business endeavor.
2023 has been filling faster than ever; and 2024 already has numerous reservations.
Thank you to those who have made sure to secure a suite well in advance of your travel plans.
To those who are wondering about a wonderful place for your cat(s) to enjoy a safe, comfortable, and happy vacation, please give us a call with your questions or to make an appointment to tour.
We love what we do.

Welcome to The Kit Inn!

Caring for cats at The Kit Inn is an evolving and ongoing learning experience, and the diverse furry personalities we meet make this endeavor a joy.
2023 finds our suites filling at a remarkable rate, and we already have numerous reservations through 2024.
Although it’s hard for us to turn away hopeful boarding requests once the six suites are reserved due to the ongoing high demand, we believe six is the perfect number for us to provide the best quality of care for our guests.
Feel free to call or text us, (585) 698-8799, if you would like more information or to schedule a private tour.
We love what we do!
