Great news
FIP claimed the lives of cats for decades, while a promising treatment remained out of reach for most pet owners. Many were forced into desperate measures, turning to unregulated sources just to give their cats a chance at survival, often without guidance or guarantees.
That reality has now changed. GS-441524, first identified by Dr. Niels Pedersen in 2018, has shown an 84.6% success rate across multiple studies, and as of May 10, 2024, the FDA has allowed veterinarians to prescribe it through licensed compounding pharmacies. For the first time, cats diagnosed with FIP can receive a legitimate, vet-guided treatment, marking a major turning point in feline medicine.
