THURSDAY: PROFESSIONAL ANIMAL WRANGLERS - WESTERN DAY! 🤠

Yeehaw! We're wrapping up Vet Tech Week by celebrating our professional animal wranglers! 🐾

Dogs. Cats. Rabbits. Reptiles. Pocket pets. And occasionally a patient with VERY strong opinions about today's appointment! 😅

Our veterinary technicians do so much more than hold animals. Safe patient handling takes patience, compassion, knowledge of animal behavior, and the ability to adapt to every species and personality.

From the tiniest critters to the biggest dogs, our techs work hard to help every patient feel safe and cared for. We're tipping our cowboy hats to Katie, Nicole, and Jordyn for all the ways they make a difference at Woodland! 💙

Have an appointment today? Saddle up and join the fun! Wear your cowboy boots, flannels, hats, or bandanas. Pets can join in with their own Western-inspired outfits, too! 🤠

Happy Vet Tech Week to our amazing team! Thank you for everything you do! 🥰

WEDNESDAY: THE DREAM TEAM - PAJAMA DAY! 💤

While our patients are dreaming, our veterinary technicians are hard at work keeping them safe and comfortable! 💙🐾

Did you know anesthesia involves much more than simply putting a pet to sleep?

Our techs help prepare patients for procedures, monitor heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and carefully watch over patients as they recover. They're trained to recognize subtle changes and respond when needed to help keep our patients as safe and comfortable as possible.

That's a lot of important work happening while our patients snooze! We're grateful for the skill, focus, and care our techs bring to every procedure. ❤️

Have an appointment today? Join our Dream Team! Wear your favorite pajamas or bring your pet in their coziest outfit. 💤

TUESDAY: LAB RATS - MAD SCIENTIST DAY! 🧪

Grab your goggles and cue the crazy hair! Today we're celebrating the science behind veterinary medicine! 🔬

Ever wonder what happens to your pet's blood, urine, or other samples after they're collected?

Our veterinary technicians are busy preparing slides, running lab tests, examining samples under the microscope, and helping our veterinarians find the answers needed to care for your pet.

From bloodwork and urinalysis to cytology and parasite testing, there's a whole lot of science happening behind the scenes! We're so thankful for the knowledge and skill our techs bring to every patient, every day. 💙

Have an appointment today? Embrace your inner mad scientist! Crazy hair, lab coats, and science-inspired outfits are welcome for people and pets alike. 🧪

MONDAY: NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES - SUPERHERO DAY! 🦸

We’re kicking off Vet Tech Week by celebrating the everyday superheroes of veterinary medicine, our incredible veterinary technicians!

Our techs wear a lot of capes (figuratively, of course!). They’re nurses, anesthetists, laboratory technicians, dental technicians, surgical assistants, pharmacy pros, patient advocates, professional animal wranglers, and so much more! 🩺🐶🐱

Whether they’re comforting a nervous patient, monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, or jumping into action during an emergency, our techs are always ready to save the day!

So much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but their dedication, knowledge, and compassion make a difference in the lives of our patients every single day. We couldn’t do what we do without them! ❤️

Have an appointment today? Join the fun! Dress yourself or your pet as your favorite superhero!

Help us show our amazing veterinary technicians some extra love and appreciation this week! 💙🐾

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 🎉🐾

We’re kicking off the week by celebrating our amazing veterinary technicians at Woodland Animal Hospital, Katie and Nicole, along with our tech-in-progress, Jordyn!💙

Veterinary technicians play an essential role in nearly every aspect of veterinary medicine! From providing nursing care, performing lab work, taking X-rays, and monitoring anesthesia to assisting in surgery, administering treatments, comforting nervous patients, and educating pet owners, their responsibilities go far beyond what many people realize! 🩺🐶🐱

So much of their hard work happens behind the scenes, but their knowledge, dedication, and compassion make an incredible difference in the lives of our patients every single day. We are so grateful for everything Katie and Nicole do for our patients, clients, and team, and we’re excited to support Jordyn as she continues working toward becoming a veterinary technician! ❤️

Help us show Katie, Nicole, and Jordyn some extra love and appreciation this week! Thank you for all that you do to make Woodland Animal Hospital such a special place! 🐾💙

Stay tuned for a fun week of celebrating! We have different dress-up themes planned throughout the week, and we’d love for our clients and patients to join in! 🥳

Pet Obesity Awareness Day 🐾⚖️

This month is a great time to talk about maintaining a healthy weight for our pets!

Those extra treats may be given with love, but carrying extra weight can have a big impact on your pet’s health.

Maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk of:
• joint problems
• diabetes
• heart and respiratory issues
• decreased mobility
• shortened lifespan

Every pet is different, and a healthy weight isn’t determined by the number on the scale alone.

Check out the charts below for more information on healthy body condition and pet obesity! 🐶🐱💚
