Toastie Update 🩷
This sweet girl is Toastie.
Toastie has had a rough history with grooming. After being severely razor burned by an inexperienced groomer, grooming became a very scary experience for her. More recently, she was also attacked by an owl, adding even more stress and fear to an already sensitive little soul.
Because of her past experiences, every grooming appointment is approached differently. Her comfort and emotional well-being come first. Her mom and I have spent a lot of time figuring out what works best for Toastie, and we’ve learned that keeping appointments short, low-stress, and focused on small wins is the key.
Today, with the help of her medication and a plan tailored specifically for her needs, we were able to get about 80% of her body clipped down and even make progress on her nails. For many dogs, that may sound like a routine appointment. For Toastie, it’s a huge victory.
Grooming isn’t always about achieving perfection. Sometimes it’s about building trust, reducing fear, and helping a dog feel a little safer than they did the last time.
I’m so proud of this brave little girl and grateful for a client who works with me as a team to help her succeed. Every positive experience is a step forward. 🩷
