Some dogs will never love grooming but we do always want to try to make them as comfortable as possible. Kind of like the doctor and dentist for some people. We may not like it but we have to go. It’s like teaching kids and giving them good experiences. We may still get dirty looks time to time as some will never enjoy the experience but we make it as pleasant as possible. lol this video just made me laugh and I thought some of you would relate and give you a good laugh too.

One of our groomers in town that we fully support! I’ve had some great people that understand life happens and I always try to be the same way. Although sometimes it’s hard to fit a dog back in the schedule since I am being booked out a month or more in advance now. So I appreciate the clients that have an understanding heart and an open mind. Know that I will do the same for you.❤️

A little reminder from the humans behind Bark Side of the Groom...

We are, in fact, HUMAN.

Sometimes people get sick. Sometimes emergencies happen. Sometimes schedules get messed up. Sometimes we have commitments, families, competitions, appointments, and lives outside of this salon.

And when those things happen, we do our absolute best to accommodate everyone affected.

But accommodating someone does not mean we can magically create appointments that do not exist.

Saturdays are consistently our first days to book up, and many of them are booked months in advance. If we have to move an appointment and offer you the next available date, there may not be another Saturday available that month. That does not mean we don’t care. It does not mean we aren’t trying. It means we are fully booked.

Being the owner also does not mean I can simply add another dog or more onto an already packed Saturday because another day is inconvenient. There is a physical limit to how many dogs we can safely and properly groom in a day, and I will not overload myself (more than i already am) or my staff to the point that quality, safety, or our bodies suffer.

My employees are allowed to be sick.

My employees are allowed to have time off.

And I am allowed to have a life outside of this salon without having to justify it.

We work our asses off for our clients. We rearrange schedules, stay late, come in early, squeeze things around where we reasonably can, and genuinely try to make things work when life throws us a curveball.

Sometimes, despite all of that, the alternative appointment we can offer simply will not work for you. We completely understand that.

What we cannot do is manufacture availability where there isn’t any.

Please remember that there are real people behind the appointment book. We love what we do, but we are not machines, and our time deserves the same respect we give yours. 🖤

A Friendly Reminder for New & Potential Clients

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick reminder for my new customers and anyone considering becoming a client. ❤️

I am a solo groomer, and before becoming a groomer, I spent 7 years working as a dog trainer. Because of that background, I have a lot of experience and knowledge when it comes to understanding dogs, their behavior, and the individual needs they may have.

I work closely with trainers and veterinarians when needed to help make sure each dog receives the care and support that is right for them. Every dog is different, and I truly believe in taking the time to understand each one as an individual.

🚨 With that being said, please keep in mind that I may not always be able to respond to messages right away. Trying to maintain a work life balance can be hard owning a business while not having employees. If you are specifically looking for my services, I truly appreciate your patience and understanding while I get back to you. 🚨

My salon is open Monday through Friday, and I keep my weekends dedicated to my family. I still do my best to respond to messages on weekends when I can, but as many of you know, life can get busy and chaotic—especially with a toddler! 😊

I am incredibly proud of the reviews and relationships we have built. We believe in treating every client with mutual respect, honesty, and transparency, while also making sure we are working with owners who are committed to providing proper care for their dogs.

We are not a high-volume salon. I intentionally keep my schedule smaller so I can provide a calm, low-stress environment and give each dog the time, attention, and care they deserve.

So, if you are looking for a grooming salon where your dog will be treated as an individual and you want a groomer who genuinely cares about their well-being, I would love the opportunity to work with you and your pup! 🐾❤️

Sometimes it really is just this easy. Communication to the parents is key in this situation. Bringing them in monthly helps as well. 12 visits instead of 6 visits a year makes it more of a common place for them. They may not ever love grooming but the learn to relax and tolerate it better. Owners going to local trainers, vets and following your groomers advice helps a ton as long as they are willing to help. Also keep in mind sometimes a change of atmosphere or groomer will also help! You have to find the right fit for you and your dog. There should be no heart feelings if you feel the need to do that as well. 🫶🏼
Put your fur family first and always have their best interest in mind! Love y’all!
