Let’s talk about our favorite mysterious, independent, treat-demanding little creatures!

Did you know…

👃 Cats have an incredible sense of smell! Their noses help them explore their environment, recognize familiar scents, and even communicate with other cats.

👀 Those beautiful eyes are built for hunting. Cats have excellent vision in low-light conditions, which is one reason they’re such successful nighttime explorers!

🐾 Cats have whiskers for more than just looking cute! Whiskers help cats navigate their surroundings and sense nearby objects and spaces.

😴 Cats are professional sleepers. Our feline friends can spend around 12–16 hours a day sleeping—and some cats may snooze even longer! Clearly, they’ve perfected the art of the nap.

💚 And perhaps the most important fact of all… cats are experts at convincing us that everything they do is their idea.

How many of these fun facts did you already know? Tell us your favorite cat fact in the comments!

📢 Holiday Closure Notice: We will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.

Everyone, meet Larry! This handsome little guy stopped by for a visit, and we couldn’t resist introducing you to him!

Larry is a Maine C**n kitten, and he is already showing off some of those adorable Maine C**n features! From his fluffy coat and giant ears to those long, impressive whiskers, he’s got plenty of growing to do—and we have a feeling he’s going to be one very handsome big boy!

Maine C**n cats are known for being one of the largest domestic cat breeds, but their size isn’t the only thing that makes them special. They’re often known for their friendly, gentle personalities and playful nature.

For now, Larry is just busy perfecting his kitten skills: looking adorable, exploring everything around him, and making sure everyone knows he’s the most important patient in the room.

Welcome to Healing Paws, Larry! We’re so happy you came to see us, little guy! 🩺💚

Everyone give Larry a big WELCOME in the comments! 👇😻

🐾😎 Laser therapy, but make it fashionable. 😎🐾

Safety first means everyone gets their shades! This adorable little superstar rocked her goggles like a pro during red laser therapy and completely stole the show.

Class IV laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can help reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation, and speed up healing for a variety of conditions—including arthritis, injuries, post-surgical recovery, and more. Best of all, it's comfortable, relaxing, and many pets even enjoy it!

We think this sweet pup deserves the title of coolest patient of the day! 💙🐶

Curious if laser therapy could help your pet feel their best? Give us a call—we'd be happy to see if it's the right treatment for them!

This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on someone who has been a part of the Healing Paws family for an incredible 12 years! 🎉

Meet Tiffany, our Registered Veterinary Technician and Office Manager!

Over the past twelve years, Tiffany has become such an important part of our team. As an RVT, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the medical side of our practice, always making sure our patients receive thoughtful, compassionate care. Whether she’s helping a nervous pet feel more comfortable, assisting with patient care, or sharing her knowledge with the rest of the team, she has a way of making sure our patients feel safe and well cared for.

As our Office Manager, Tiffany also helps keep everything behind the scenes moving in the right direction. From supporting our staff to helping with the day-to-day operations of the clinic, she wears many hats—and somehow manages to keep everything going!

Twelve years is a LONG time, and we are so thankful that Tiffany has chosen to spend those years growing with Healing Paws. Her dedication to our practice, our team, and the pets and families we serve is something we truly appreciate.

In her own words: "I really enjoy seeing the special bonds that develop between pets and their parents. It’s rewarding to be a part of their journey and see the trust, love, and connection they share with one another."

We’re incredibly lucky to have someone with Tiffany’s experience, compassion, and dedication as part of our team. After 12 years, she has certainly left her paw print on Healing Paws!

Help us celebrate Tiffany and her 12 years with Healing Paws by leaving her some love in the comments! 🎉👇

🌈🐾 National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today, we pause to remember the beloved pets who may no longer be by our side, but will forever have a place in our hearts. ❤️

Our pets give us a lifetime of unconditional love, silly moments, comforting cuddles, and memories we wish we could hold onto forever. Saying goodbye to them is one of the hardest parts of loving them, but the love they leave behind never truly goes away.

Today, we remember the pets who:
🐾 Greeted us at the door
🐾 Made us laugh when we needed it most
🐾 Stayed beside us through the good and bad days
🐾 Filled our homes with love and companionship
🐾 Left paw prints on our hearts that will never fade

If you've loved and lost a pet, their memory matters. Share their name, a favorite memory, or a photo in the comments so we can remember them together.

To all the sweet souls waiting at the Rainbow Bridge—you are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

🌈 Until we meet again. 🌈

🐾 Snoopy stopped by to get those ears checked! 🩺💙

This sweet boy was such a great patient during his visit! While we loved seeing his happy face, he came in because his ears were bothering him—a common issue we see in dogs, especially during allergy season.

Signs your pet may have an ear infection include:
🐶 Frequent head shaking
🐶 Scratching or pawing at the ears
🐶 Redness or swelling inside the ear
🐶 A strong or unpleasant odor
🐶 Brown, yellow, or black discharge
🐶 Sensitivity or pain when the ears are touched
🐶 Holding one ear lower than the other or tilting their head

Ear infections can be caused by allergies, moisture, bacteria, yeast, ear mites, or even foreign material in the ear canal. Left untreated, they can become very painful and may lead to more serious problems.

If you've noticed your pet showing any of these signs, don't wait for them to get worse. Early treatment can help relieve discomfort and prevent chronic ear issues.

Way to go, Snoopy, for being such a brave boy during your visit!

If you think your pet may have an ear infection, give us a call to schedule an exam. We're here to help keep those ears healthy and those tails wagging!

📅 Quick heads up: Our office will be CLOSED today from 12:00–1:30 PM for team training. We'll be back to normal hours right after!

🐾 SUNDAY FUNDAY! 🐾
Let’s see what kind of pet parent you are!

Which one sounds MOST like you?
A. “My pet has a whole basket of toys… but their favorite is the cardboard box.”
B. “My pet has a nicer bed than I do.”
C. “I say I’m not giving them any more treats… then immediately give them a treat.”
D. “My pet has their own spot on the couch, and apparently I’m just allowed to sit there too.”
E. “I have approximately 47 pictures of my pet from this morning alone.”

Drop your letter in the comments! And if you have a funny pet-parent confession, we want to hear that too!

📅 Quick Reminder: Our office will be CLOSED Monday, August 24th from 12:00–1:30 PM for team training. We'll be back to normal hours right after!

📚🐾 Back-to-school season is here! 🐾📚

The backpacks are packed, the routines are changing, and suddenly your pet may find themselves spending a lot more time alone during the day. While some pets adjust easily, others can have a harder time when their favorite people leave the house.

Keep an eye out for changes like unexpected accidents, destructive behavior, increased vocalization, clinginess, or changes in grooming habits. These can sometimes be signs that your pet is having a tough time with the new schedule.

A few ways to make the transition easier:
✨ Ease into the new routine before long days alone
✨ Give your pet something familiar that smells like you
✨ Add enrichment through toys, puzzles, walks, or playtime
✨ Keep departures and arrivals calm and low-key
✨ Make sure they have a comfortable, relaxing space of their own

Most importantly, be patient! A big change in routine can take some time for our pets to understand.

If your pet is struggling to adjust or you're noticing concerning behavior, we're here to help! Give us a call and let's work together to help your furry family member feel more comfortable.

📅 Quick heads up: Our office will be CLOSED on August 24th from 12:00–1:30 PM for team training. We'll be back to normal hours right after!

☀️🐾 Is your dog trying to tell you something? 🐾☀️

We all know the classic “happy, tongue-out dog” look—but sometimes that panting can mean more than “I just had a great time!”

Dogs may pant for all kinds of reasons, including cooling themselves down, excitement, stress, or after a good game of fetch. But if your pup suddenly seems to be panting more than usual or without an obvious reason, it's worth taking a closer look.

Especially during the warmer months, keep an eye out for changes in your pet's breathing, energy level, behavior, or overall appearance. Trust your instincts—you know your pet's normal better than anyone!

A few summer safety reminders:
💧 Keep fresh water available
🏡 Make sure your pet has a cool place to escape the heat
🌳 Choose cooler times of day for walks
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked car, even for a short time

And remember, if your furry friend doesn't seem quite like themselves, we're always here to help!

Have questions about your pet's breathing or behavior? Give us a call!
