Ty isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for a human who’s ready to help him earn a few extracurricular credits. 😂

At 5 years old, this handsome guy is a clever, curious, highly food-motivated little overachiever. He loves learning new tricks, and we can absolutely see him earning a few official cat trick titles with his future human. Who says cats can’t have hobbies?! 😉

Ty also lives for puzzle toys, enrichment, and having plenty to keep that busy brain occupied. Give him some tasty rewards and a human who appreciates a cat with a big personality, and he’s ready to get to work.

Now, Ty does have some extra needs. He has hip dysplasia and congenital issues affecting his lower back and tail, along with a history of megacolon. The good news? His condition has been well managed with medication, high-fiber food, and a pain-management routine that’s helped him feel SO much better. He takes his meds mixed right into his food like the very good student he is. 👏

Ty is looking for an experienced cat person in an adult-only, one-cat household who understands his needs and is excited to help him thrive. Think cozy beds, plenty of windows for neighborhood surveillance, and puzzle toys to keep him entertained.

Ty might have a few more needs than your average feline roommate, but he has SO much to offer someone willing to look beyond his medical history and appreciate the clever, curious, big-personality boy underneath it all.

Somewhere between the puppy breath, tiny toe beans, and inevitable 2 a.m. zoomies, 3-month-old, 15 lb. Willow is hoping to find her forever people! 🧡

Found as a stray all on her own, Willow was lucky enough to land in a safe foster home instead of facing the uncertain fate so many dogs in the south experience. Over the last couple of weeks, she’s been soaking up love, building confidence, and getting a head start on her puppy life skills. 🥹

Now she’s ready for a family to help her keep growing! Willow needs people home more often than not to continue her positive reinforcement training. Potty accidents, questionable chew-toy choices, and the occasional puppy witching hour? All included in the package. 😂

She’s a potential match for a home with a puppy-friendly dog and older kiddos. Cats are a little trickier: Willow finds them fascinating, so a confident, playful feline might enjoy the company. A cat who prefers peace, quiet, and zero puppy nonsense? Probably not her match.

📅 One important note: Willow is scheduled to be spayed in early November. Her adopters will need to bring her to our veterinary partners in Worcester for the appointment. It’s already booked, and BDC will cover the cost!

Two floofy siblings. One lifetime of love. And a very important requirement for their next home: they need to stay together!

Angel is 6, rocking the floofiest brown coat around. Her brother Benji is 8, serving up white fluff for days. These two have spent their ENTIRE lives together, and after losing the only family they’ve ever known, they’re looking for a new place to land—together, obviously. They’re each other’s comfort zone, familiar face, and built-in company.

So, what kind of home are they looking for?

17 dogs. 13 cats. And a whole lot of happy tears. 🥹

The last five weeks have been FULL of the kind of moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do. So many of our incredible animals have found their forever families, including some pups who waited nearly an entire YEAR for someone to finally choose them. A YEAR!

Our volunteers have shed more than a few tears along the way. Because as much as we CELEBRATE every adoption, saying goodbye is always a little bittersweet. We’ve loved these animals, rooted for them, worried about them, and dreamed about the day they’d finally have a family to call their own. And now? They’re off living their best lives, surrounded by the love they’ve always deserved. 🧡

But here’s the thing: none of these happy endings happen because of one person. It takes a village to get an animal from where they are to where they belong. And in rescue, that village can span multiple states!

From the people who open their homes to foster, to the drivers who get animals where they need to go, the medical teams who get the animals in tip top shape, the volunteers who coordinate vet visits, check applications, share posts, find foster homes, and everyone who cheers these animals on every step of the way… EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. MATTERS.

Whether you played a huge role behind the scenes or simply shared a post that helped the right person find their new best friend, please know this: we couldn’t do this without you. Not a chance.

So today, we’re celebrating 30 animals who are starting their next chapters with families of their own, the volunteers who helped make it happen, and every single person who continues to show up for animals in need.

Meet Midnight & Shadow! 🖤🖤

These gorgeous sisters are looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of their own. After five years with the only human they’ve ever known, severe allergies have made it medically necessary for their person to part ways with them. He’s heartbroken, and while we wish things could be different, we’re grateful we can help these girls find another home where they can keep living the loved and pampered life they’ve always known.

And seriously, these two are even MORE beautiful in person. The photos just aren’t doing them justice! At first glance, you might think you’re seeing double, but look a little closer: Midnight is rocking the long, luxurious fur, while Shadow sports a shorter, sleek coat. Two stunning sisters, two very different looks, and twice the feline charm. 😻

These ladies are looking for a quieter home where they can settle in at their own pace and continue being each other’s favorite company. They haven’t lived with other cats, but a mellow feline roommate who isn’t desperately searching for a new BFF could potentially work with proper introductions. A cat-savvy dog might also be an option, and they’ve been around cat-savvy kids, so gentle kiddos could be a fit, too.

Mostly, Midnight and Shadow need someone willing to open their heart and home to two adult cats who deserve to feel safe, loved, and right at home again.

How is this kid STILL waiting for his own family?! Make it make sense. 😭

At just 5 months old and around 34 lbs, Hudson is a ridiculously cute, fun-loving pup with what we suspect is a little Plott Hound in his breed mix. And while he’s still very much a puppy (hello, zoomies and occasional “whoops, don’t chew that!”), he’s already got a pretty impressive little résumé going!

He’s house trained, good on walks, and has been attending daycare occasionally to keep up with his socialization. His foster family has been helping him finesse all of his important life skills, so his future family won’t be starting from square one. 🙌

Hudson will still need a family ready to keep up with all the antics, continued training, and growing pains that come with puppyhood. A playful, dog-savvy canine sibling would be a bonus, and teens are A-OK, too.

No cats or apartments for this guy, please!

Lottie recently landed herself a wonderful new foster home, and we couldn’t be happier for her! But 14 MONTHS after joining Brown Dog Coalition, she’s still a temporary houseguest in a foster home instead of finally settling into a forever home of her own. 💔

And honestly? We aren’t sure how or why she continues to be overlooked. So we’ve come up with a few theories. Because clearly, her amazing qualities MUST be working against her somehow. 😅

1️⃣ She’s a perfectly medium-sized 45 lbs. Not too big, not too small. Just right. How terribly inconvenient.

2️⃣ She can be trusted home alone for a few hours. No full-time babysitter required. The audacity of being a responsible, independent woman.

3️⃣ She’d rather hang out in a fenced backyard than go for a walk around the busy neighborhood. No pressure to hit 10,000 steps every day? Unbearable.

4️⃣ She’s so smart she could earn multiple trick titles without breaking a sweat. Brains AND beauty? Apparently, that’s intimidating.

5️⃣ She’s potty trained AND a great eater. No accidents, no mealtime negotiations. What is this, easy mode?!

6️⃣ She’s a world-class snuggle bug. Imagine wanting to cuddle with your favorite people and be loved right back. Absolutely outrageous.

7️⃣ She recently tried all sorts of water sports and was a PRO on the first try. Swimming, adventuring, trying new things…someone really needs to tell this girl to stop showing off.

8️⃣ She’s happiest as your one-and-only dog. Imagine not needing to add a second dog to the household just to keep the first one happy. One dog = one set of vet bills. How wildly selfish of her.

We’re fresh out of even more ridiculous theories because all we know is that Lottie is an amazing pup who deserves a family of her own, and 14 months is WAY too long to be waiting for one.

Believe it or not, there are LOTS of cats right here in our own backyard who need help. 🙏 Some are strays with nowhere safe to go. Others have families who, for any number of reasons, can no longer care for them.

And almost every week, we’re asked to help find these local kitties safe foster homes. Too often, we have to say we’re full. 💔

We’re a small, 100% foster-based rescue, which means we can only help as many cats as we have homes willing to open their doors. When we can’t step up, their futures are left uncertain. And that breaks our hearts.

👉 Could you be part of the solution?

You don’t need a dedicated cat room or a ton of experience. A spare bedroom, bathroom, or other small space where a kitty can decompress and settle in for a few days or a few weeks could make ALL the difference.

Work full-time outside the home? Retired? Have resident pets? Rent instead of own? You’re still welcome here! Our only requirement is that fosters live in Massachusetts. 📍
