🇺🇸 A Quick Memorial Day Update 🇺🇸

Frog Family Reptile Shop will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th, as we take time to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it’s a day to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who never made it home.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday spent with family and friends.

❤️🤍💙 Thank you to all military families and to those who have served.

We'll be back Tuesday at 11:00 AM and ready to see all of your smiling faces (and maybe a few reptiles too 🐍😁).

💚 COMMUNITY QUESTION 💚

A local family recently shared that their sweet daughter, who is turning 6 and is autistic and nonverbal, had a birthday party where unfortunately none of her classmates were able to attend.

As the parent of a nonverbal child myself, that hit me right in the heart.

It got me thinking...

Would our community be interested in helping us throw a FREE Inclusion Celebration at Frog Family Reptile & Amphibians?

Not just for one child, but for ALL children.

A day where kids of all abilities can come together, meet new friends, interact with amazing animals, play, learn, and simply have fun being kids.

One of the reasons we started Frog Family was because we wanted a place where children like my son could feel welcome, accepted, and free from judgment. A place where differences aren't something to be hidden they're something to be understood and celebrated.

This could also be a wonderful opportunity for children who aren't on the spectrum to learn about and interact with their friends and neighbors who may communicate, play, or experience the world differently than they do.

Because at the end of the day, kindness starts with understanding. ❤️

Right now we have 13 baby crested geckos available ranging from $159-$400… but for just $129 you get to randomly choose your new little chaos gremlin 🦎😂

Here’s the twist:

Each gecko has a sealed envelope with only a number on it that corresponds to one of the babies. No names. No prices. No hints. Just pure luck. 👀🎲

Some are already showing insane pattern and color, some are adorable little weirdos, and a couple honestly probably should’ve never made it into this game 😅

You could end up with one of the lower priced babies… or accidentally pick one we debated keeping ourselves.

Not gonna lie, we’re way too excited to watch everyone try to figure out which envelope hides which gecko 😂

It's not 1978…

This is something new, and it stopped me in my tracks.

Out front of the original Bass Pro Shops/brown derby on South Campbell in Springfield down the road from our vary own store, they just put up a new vintage-style sign and man… it hits different.

Standing there, right in between the old Brown Derby and everything it’s grown into… it’s hard not to feel something.

As a small, family-owned business, this place has always been more than just a store to us it’s been a reminder of what’s possible. Same town. Same roots. Same kind of people just trying to build something for their family and their community.

Seeing what Johnny Morris has done not just building a business, but pouring back into conservation, into families, into the community it’ll make you stop, turn around, and take it all in for a second.

Because that dream?
That “maybe one day”?
What if It’s not as far off as it feels.

Moments like this remind us why we keep pushing. Why we stay late. Why we care so much about what we’re building.

This morning was something special 💚🐸

Mushu and the whole crew had the chance to spend time at New Life Church, and it meant more to us than we can put into words. Being able to bring the Frog Family team out, share a service demonstration, and watch all the kiddos and youth groups light up during the animal encounters… that’s exactly why we do what we do.

There’s nothing better than seeing curiosity turn into confidence right in front of your eyes 🐍🦎🐢

We’re beyond thankful for the warm welcome and hospitality from everyone at New Life Church. You made us feel right at home, and we had an absolute blast being part of your morning.
