🐾 RAMBO IS HOME SAFE 🐾

Rambo, a 7-year-old shy male dog, escaped on 5/10 after becoming frightened by an incoming thunderstorm and jumping a 6-foot fence.

On 5/14, Sight Hawk Drone was able to locate Rambo approximately .6 miles away using thermal drone imaging in a nearby water retention area.

Because Rambo was extremely scared and flighty, safely recovering him required patience and strategy rather than chasing him and risking pushing him farther away from the area.

By setting up a food/water station along with familiar bedding nearby, Rambo stayed in the area and was successfully owner recovered today, 5/16. 🐾

Cases like this are an important reminder that frightened dogs often travel farther than expected and may avoid people even after being located. Calm recovery strategies and avoiding pressure are often key factors in bringing them home safely.

Very happy this one had a successful outcome.

🚨 LOST PET SCAM ALERT #8 of 13 🚨
FAKE PET RECOVERY PAGE SCAM

This is part of an ongoing series I’m posting to help protect pet owners from scams—and this one is VERY real.

It just happened to me.

A fake page recently took photos from one of my actual recoveries and tried to pass it off as their own work.

Let that sink in…
👉 Real case
👉 Real pet
👉 Stolen photos

These scammers are getting more advanced. They’re no longer just sending messages—they’re creating entire pages that look legitimate.

⚠️ Red flags to watch for:
• Recently created page
• No real reviews or local references
• Stolen or “too perfect” photos
• Followers that don’t match your area

If your pet is missing, you’re already in a stressful situation—and that’s exactly what they count on.

🛑 DO NOT send money to unverified pages
🛑 DO NOT trust pages that can’t prove they are local and real

Take a few minutes to verify before you trust someone with your situation.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – FAKE PET RECOVERY PAGE 🚨

I want to make everyone aware of a fake page/company called “Pet Search & Retriever” that is currently using MY photos and content without permission.

The images in their recent post are from a real recovery I conducted just a couple days ago for Pepper the cat — and they are falsely claiming it as their own work.

⚠️ This is exactly the type of scam I’ve been warning about in my ongoing scam series.

Here’s what you need to know:
• They are stealing real recovery photos to look legitimate
• They are not a local service
• They are trying to build trust so they can take advantage of desperate pet owners

This one is psychological.

Scammers will try to make you feel guilty, pressured, or even ashamed—just to get you to send money.

They might say things like:
👉 “I guess your pet doesn’t matter to you”
👉 “If you really cared, you’d pay right now”

👉 Here’s the truth:
Someone who actually has your pet will work with you—not manipulate or pressure you.

✅ Always slow down, ask questions, and verify before sending anything.

One major red flag:

Someone who will only communicate through messaging apps.

Scammers avoid phone calls and video because they don’t actually have your pet.

Watch for these warning signs:

• Only communicates through Messenger, WhatsApp, or similar apps
• Refuses to speak on the phone
• Avoids FaceTime or video calls
• Stops responding when you ask for proof

🚨 SCAM ALERT #5 of 13: Gift Card Payment Scam 🚨

If anyone ever asks you to pay using gift cards… it’s a scam.

No legitimate person, rescue, or service will ask you to:
❌ Buy gift cards
❌ Scratch off the code
❌ Send it as “payment”

This tactic is used because it’s untraceable and irreversible. Once that code is sent, the money is gone.

⚠️ RED FLAGS:
• Says it’s the “fastest” or “easiest” way to pay
• Pressures you to act immediately
• Avoids normal payment methods

👉 Bottom line:
There is no situation involving a lost pet where gift cards should be used as payment.

Stay alert—these scams are designed to catch you in a moment of stress.

• Provide vague or inconsistent details
• Disappear once payment is sent

👉 Reality check:
Someone who truly has your pet will NOT demand payment first.

✅ Always verify in person before sending any money.

🚨 SCAM ALERT #3 of 13: Veterinary ER Deposit Scam 🚨

This is one of the most emotional and manipulative scams targeting pet owners right now.

Scammers will call or message claiming your pet was hit by a car and rushed to a veterinary ER… then demand an immediate deposit before treatment.

⚠️ RED FLAGS:
• They create panic and urgency
• They won’t let you verify details
• They push for fast payment (Zelle, Cash App, etc.)
• They refuse to give clear clinic info

👉 Here’s the truth:
No legitimate veterinary clinic will rely on a random third party to collect money from you like this.

✅ ALWAYS call the veterinary clinic directly using a verified number before sending ANY money.

These scams are designed to hit you when you’re vulnerable. Take a breath, slow down, and verify.

🚨 Lost Pet Scam Alert #2 of 13 🚨

Scammers are now using AI and edited photos to trick people searching for missing pets.

Here’s how the scam works:

They take the photo you posted of your missing pet, slightly edit it (flip it, remove the background, or alter it with AI), and send it back claiming they found your pet.

Then they try to demand money.

⚠️ Protect yourself:
Always ask for FaceTime or a short video of the pet moving in real time.

Scammers can fake a photo… but they usually cannot produce a live video.

🚨 LOST PET SCAM ALERT #1 of 13 — SATELLITE TRACKING 🚨

Some scammers claim they can locate missing pets using satellite technology.

This is not possible.

No civilian service has access to satellites capable of identifying or tracking individual dogs or cats on the ground.

Scammers use this claim to convince desperate pet owners to pay for “location information” that doesn’t exist.

⚠️ If someone claims they can find your pet using satellites and asks for payment, that is a major red flag.

Always verify information before sending money or personal information to anyone online.
