Hi everyone! I wanted to give an update on Wendy. Again, I would normally not post too much on this but we have so many friends that live out of state or that we are not able to see as often; not to mention so many of you that follow her journey as former high school classmates, puppy clients etc. Many of you may not know, Wendy has been on hospice care for about 6 months now. Since that time, we have navigated various challenges and adjustments. Wendy had her usual 6 month follow up with her HD specialist at Duke today. She has been having difficulty sleeping and being comfortable overall. Adjustments to her meds were made which we are hopeful will help her at night. Hospice has now began the process of giving her “comfort” meds to assist with pain management. Also, her Duke specialist has now set her follow up visits to be every 4 months instead of 6. Her specialist also advised me today that at her current stage of progression, he is anticipating a year left remaining with us. We all know that God is the great physician, and that his timing and final say is always perfect and at his discretion. So with that, we continue to trust in his authority, timing, provisions, and guidance as we humble ourselves to his purpose. We love you all and are always grateful for your prayers, support, and words of encouragement and love. God Bless! 🙏
