Morning update on Snow…….
I spoke with the surgeon this AM
She said
“I think this is fixable with time and supporive care”
She presented 3 options but we will not know the best one until they sedate Snow, clean out the wound and have a better idea of what is going on. Since the wound is so close to her eye the ophthalmologist will look at it as well.
Options:
1. Close wound and place a drain.
( not sure there is enough skin to do this)
2. Use a flap (skin from her neck) move up
to help cover wound.
(Would need to ensure there is good blood
flow to tissue to be sucessful)
3. Place a wound vac over the wound. This
would stay in place for 2 to 3 days. She
would remain in hospital during this time.
As of right now the wound vac sounds like the best option. It is a machine that uses suction to help wound healing by removing fluid and bactetia, reduces swelling and increases blood flow.
I am waiting on estimates. We have already paid $3200 for her hospitalization. IV fluids, antibiotics, pain meds etc
This will not be cheap and Snow has come this far. We do not want to give up on her.
We have approximately $2,000 in dobations so far. People have been reaching out asking how to donate.
Here are the ways to donate
