Service Dog Board and Train Ranger has completed four weeks of training!

We have decided he needs an additional two weeks to tighten up his long list of tasks and goals but his progress the last two weeks has been huge!

Trainer Cash is doing a great job with public access training, retrieving, brace, and Ecollar obedience. He will spend the next two weeks tightening up Rangers excitement around other dogs, proofing all those tasks, and even more public access work.

Great Work!

The Nine Realms Board and Train Program is booking up fast. We are currently booking into August, so if you want to get on the list for a board and train that’s not in the middle of winter….message asap!

This is a big one!

Takeshi, Yggdrasil’s Vidar von Nine Realms, new name Bjorn, is now a fully trained and certified tracking and narcotics detection K9 for Roosevelt County MT Sheriff!

Roosevelt County MT Sheriff is a very special department for me as it’s where K9 Hati and her inspirational handler Michael Ellerton worked. Nine Realms trained both Hati and Michael back in 2021.

Michael passed last summer after fighting cancer for years. He was one of the strongest fighters and his passing was felt by many. To have another dog trained by Nine Realms in Roosevelt County Sheriff is very special.

Fellow ASCTI Instructor, Jason Lacross, finished off Takeshi’s training in April and then Takeshi and his new handler, Russ Corbell, completed handler school and certification this month.

A big list of thank yous on this one. Jason Lacross for finishing up Takeshi when I couldn’t after recovering from ankle reconstruction. Madisyn Urlacher for housing and training Takeshi for two months after ankle surgery. Daemon Emmitt for tracking Takeshi the right after I broke my ankle. Mike Poppens for working him on detection. Cash Davis, and Amee Rodriguez-Leon for also helping raise him. And the rest of the group, you know who you are!

Go make all of us proud Keshi. You have a fan club rooting for you ❤️

Vests are for service dog clients only.

While bright blue is featured on the vest, the vests ordered will be dark blue. However, I can do requests for specific thread and fabric colors for an additional fee. The vest has two pockets.

🚨Service Dog Drop in Class Tonight!🚨

Last Class for May!

Spokane Valley Mall, 6pm
Meet Outside by the Azteca
$40 per dog

We will be focusing on loose leash walking while holding objects, stay while being walked over, ignoring other people and dogs, and handling other dogs in close proximity (in elevator and in seating areas). There might be more as well if time!

Who is coming?!

Board and Train Ranger has finished week two of his 30 day training program.

Sometimes with board and trains, even with an evaluation, talking with the owner, and meeting the dog we can find some surprises when the dog comes to us for training. For Ranger, trainer Cash discovered he has a lot of frantic energy and anxiety that we needed to address before any other part of his training could begin.

This is not anyone’s fault, especially not his owner. It’s just a part of the board and train process when we really get to know the dog.

So the last two weeks have focused on unwinding Rangers brain and calming him down so that he can focus on his job.

Now that Ranger is in a better headspace he can start working towards his service dog goals. He is alright very proficient with the retrieving!

Trainer Cash is doing an excellent job turning Ranger into the best possible version of himself!
