Today is the start of National Veterinary Technician week! A week we celebrate the hardworking, dedicated, often unsung hero’s of the veterinary profession! We have some stellar Veterinary technicians working alongside our dedicated team helping your pets everyday at our clinic. This week we celebrate their hard work! Kathy, Ariel, Josh, Chad, Mindy, and Rachel are all amazing members of our team that spend their days ensuring our patients are not just getting the care they need but also getting much needed affection! We couldn’t do our jobs well without them!

With mixed emotions, we're sharing that Dr. Ovink will be moving on from our practice to begin an exciting new chapter.

Over the past 5 years, she has been a valued member of our team, and many of you have trusted her with your pets' care.

Dr Ovink will be transitioning into emergency medicine, so you may still see her in urgent situations as she shifts into that role. We will miss her wonderful work ethic and bubbly personality everyday at the clinic. Her new team is very lucky to have her.

She will remain with us until mid-August, so there is still time to schedule a visit with her before she leaves. While we'll miss her, we're truly happy for her and wish her all the best in what's ahead!

As always, our team is here for you—if you've been seeing Dr Ovink, one of our other excellent veterinarians will be ready to step in and continue your pet's care.

We want to make you aware that our clinic will be open during regular business hours tomorrow. We understand that some clinics near the fire zone may not be able to open, and we are here to help if we can. We want to warn you that some of our team have been evacuated and will not be able to work tomorrow, including Dr. Sutton, who is unable to return home, as well as a couple of our assistants. As a result, we will be short-staffed, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Our team will be reaching out to some of you to reschedule in the morning due to Dr. Sutton’s absence. Everyone of our team members who evacuated and their families remains safe as are their fur babies at this time. We are all deeply devastated and heartbroken at what has occurred in our community. Our hearts go out to those who have lost everything. We have the utmost respect and appreciation for all our first responders who have worked tirelessly to aid everyone in our community affected by this fire. You are all in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. Please everyone be safe, be kind and be patient and compassionate to one another.

Our very own Dr. Sutton was awarded a Kindness citation last week! Here is her mug shot! 😝. Practice kindness! Spread Kindness! Be kind!

Kindness Citation SPKPD-00464

Lindsey Sutton has operated her awesome veterinary business, Union Animal Hospital, since 2019. Her and her staff are great community partners for the neighboring businesses and residents. You will often see them taking extra steps to make the neighborhood clean and safe.

It was Officer Prim’s honor to issue Lindsey a Kindness Citation. After being cited Lindsey shared “I was shocked and then I was thankful to be acknowledged for trying to work with people and make my local community a better place to be. Just doing the right thing rarely gets rewarded or noticed so it was great to be acknowledged.”

Keep impacting your community one kind act at a time!
