This one might not be technically perfect because I am still finding my way with photography, but it’s still a photograph of my dog, Spy. One day, that will be enough to make it mean everything.

I want to keep the blurry photos, the ones where the timing was off, the awkward poses, and the shots that didn’t turn out quite the way I imagined. Because someday, I won’t get to take any more. Not the bad ones. Not the good ones. Not even one more.

Our dogs’ days with us are numbered. We know it, but somehow, we still act like we have all the time in the world.

So get out there. Take the photos. Capture the ordinary moments, the goofy expressions, the muddy paws, the gray hairs, and the everyday things you think you’ll always remember.

Don't wait for perfect light, the perfect pose, or the perfect camera settings. Just take the picture.

Because someday, the imperfect photographs will become some of the most perfect memories you have left. 🐾❤️

Settle the debate...

Puppy Breath?
Yes?
No?

I am firm in my decision. What is your stance?

Thank you Jenna for helping me take these photos and providing comic relief. I adore you and so do the puppies!

🍂The October 11 Name Reveal🍂

They are the sweetest babies! Which one, if you HAD to pick, is your favorite?

We will be doing DNA testing on 3 of the 11 so we know what we are working with and what life might be like if you adopt one of these precious souls. Can you believe they were abandoned at 4 weeks? They are 5 weeks now and thriving!

Podcast Episode 76: Bringing Home a Second Dog — The Surprising Thing to Watch For

Click Here to Listen: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2071105/episodes/19976011

Thinking about adding a second dog to your family? Most people imagine double the love, double the fun, and a built-in best friend for their resident dog. But what happens when that new relationship takes an unexpected turn?

After seeing this happen several times in my dog daycare, I knew it was something we needed to talk about. Instead of building confidence and independence, some dogs become so attached to the other dog that they struggle to function without them. What starts as a seemingly sweet bond can turn into a dependency that affects their ability to socialize, learn, explore, and feel comfortable on their own.

In this episode, we're talking about what happens when a resident dog and a newly adopted dog become overly dependent on one another, the subtle signs you might be missing, and why this dynamic deserves more attention. We'll explore why being inseparable isn't always a sign of a healthy relationship, what to watch for, and how to help both dogs develop confidence as individuals.

Because bringing home a second dog should mean adding to your family, not accidentally creating a situation where two dogs struggle to be apart.

Two dogs. Two individuals. Two lives worth helping them thrive.

Shadow piddles in the studio floor no matter how often we take her outside. We put a diaper on her to help her stop this behavior. You would think that diaper is why she is diving to the floor, however it is not. This is just one of the many reasons why we love Shadow. She will dive diaper or no diaper.

Ever wonder what it feels like to be in one of my classes? This video gives you a little glimpse into the vibe of Level 1 Obedience class!

It’s a mix of learning, problem-solving, celebrating the little wins, and helping people and their dogs figure things out together. We work on skills, build communication, and learn how to set our dogs up for success. There’s focus, there’s fun, and yes, there are moments when things don’t go quite as planned! That’s all part of the process.

Because obedience isn't just about teaching your dog to listen. It's about learning how to communicate, building a relationship, and becoming a team.

Watching these teams grow is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

Don't miss a class! We are booking out until the end of the year. It will be Christmas break before we know it! Sign up at www.pawsitveconnectiondogtraining.com
