CJB Dressage Classical dressage training and coaching with regular clinics and competition opportunities. We operate out of Echo Valley Stables near Deer Park.

I began training in dressage in 1994. Starting in 1995, I trained regularly with Wolfgang and Suzanne May. Wolfgang received his Bereiter certification working with Walter ‘Bubi’ Gunther and then was invited by Tempel Smith to train for a year at the SRS to become an original trainer (including airs above the ground) when Tempel Farms opened. Wolfgang passed away in 2012, and I continued training with Suzanne (who received her training from Mykola Pawlenko) until she passed away in 2019. I also spent several years training with gold medalist Leslie Taylor Chapman. I have two-thirds of my scores for my bronze medal and plan to earn my third-level scores soon! I have gentle lesson horses — check for availability. I work out of Pleasant Valley Stables but also travel to many different barns in the Spokane/CDA metro.

Helmet help available!

Meadow View Farm has been busy collecting donations for our horse community! Many thanks to Kim Stuckens, Redmond, WA and the Washington State Hunter Jumper association and PNW and local equestrians for their tremendous support and outpouring of donations! We will be opening to the victims of the fire who need to replace items for their horses, barns, and even riding apparel. We have items for every discipline.

The Rusty Stirrup Consignment shop also has donated inventory. For horsemen who need to replace helmets, we have a fund to help paying for a helmet. We will be open 1-5 on weekends starting today! Weekdays, by appointment. Please come out if you are in need. If you don't need items but would like to purchase items at a reduced amount, 100% of the funds will go into the Helmet Grant fund!

Hello, my beloved clients & students! It has been a week, and that is an understatement. I know we are all still grieving the loss of Pleasant Valley Stables, which was home for so long.

I have landed, along with the horses, at Echo Valley Ranch near Riverside. I think we all will be very happy there. There are two outdoor arenas, a round pen, and a small indoor that is scheduled so riders won’t have to deal with traffic.

When will I get up and running, you ask? First, the horses will need two weeks of decent air quality. Today was pretty good, so maybe we can start that two-week countdown today.

Second, I have been running all over creation to rebuild my tack collection. As of today I *think* I have a saddle for every horse (and the saddler is coming in ten days to get everything fitted correctly). I have a whole tub full of donated bridles and bits (including pony size), so next I will start fitting bridles. I have plenty of donated pads, stirrup leathers, and stirrups, so I think by the time the horses’ lungs have recovered I’ll be ready to start scheduling lessons.

Thank you all for your patience and support ❤️❤️❤️

Look what the generous equestrian community of Spokane put together on short notice. Special thanks to Kate McCloskey for spearheading! And to all the donors and volunteers. Y’all are just unreal!
