A New Adoption Process at Laikin’s Purrfect Sphynx!

As my cattery grows, my adoption process is growing with it. I’m making intentional changes that allow me to put the health and development of each kitten first while creating a more organized experience for my adopting families.

Going forward, all future kitten placements will begin with an application and waitlist.

Once your application is approved, a $250 nonrefundable waitlist fee will secure your place in selection order. The full $250 will be applied toward the purchase price of your kitten and is not an additional cost.

Kittens will no longer be reserved as newborns. Instead, I’ll have time to watch them grow, evaluate their health and development, and get to know each kitten before families make their selections.

When it’s time for kitten selection, approved families will choose in waitlist order. Any kittens remaining afterward will then be made publicly available.

Some exciting changes are coming to Laikin’s Purrfect Sphynx! 🐾

I’m revamping my adoption process to better prioritize each kitten’s health, development, and individual needs while creating a smoother experience for future families.

The updated process will include an application, structured waitlist, later kitten selections, updated policies and contracts, and a 16-week go-home age following their final wellness check.

These changes will allow me more time to watch each kitten grow and develop before families make their selections.

I’m excited for this next chapter and truly appreciate everyone who continues to support and trust my program.

Look who made the Camp CDA page! 😂🥰🐾

Apparently bringing Sphynx babies camping makes you pretty popular. 😂 Our little naked crew has been making friends everywhere we go!

We’ve had such a wonderful time at Camp CDA with our family this weekend. I’m incredibly grateful for places that welcome the whole family, including the tiny, wrinkly, four legged members. 🤍🏕️

Thank you, Camp CDA, for welcoming our crazy crew with open arms and for giving our Laikin’s Purrfect Sphynx babies their little moment of fame! 😂🐾

If you’re ever looking for a family AND pet friendly getaway in North Idaho, definitely give them some love! 🥰

🏕️🌲 We’re off camping!

I’m trading kitten messages, my never ending to do list, and the usual craziness for campfires, fresh air, s’mores, and a few days making memories with my family. 🤎

I’ll officially be away from the cattery page through Labor Day, so messages and inquiries may have to wait until we’re home.

Will I still randomly post kitten photos or little updates while we’re gone? Probably. 😂 No promises though!

For now, this mama is clocking out and heading to the woods with my crew. 🏕️🐾

Good morning & Happy Monday! ☀️🐾

It feels so good to be back this morning after taking Sunday completely away from the cattery to focus on God, church, and my family. 💝

Yesterday was church, family time, slowing down, and simply being present. Today I’m coming back feeling refreshed and genuinely excited to jump back into all things Sphynx! 🥰

If you messaged me yesterday, thank you for giving me the space to respond today. I’ll be working through messages and catching up during my normal availability hours. 💕

I’m incredibly grateful that this little cattery gets to be something I love so much while still keeping my priorities in order.

A little cattery update from me. 🤍

One thing I’ve been learning lately is that I can deeply love what I do and still create boundaries around it.

I genuinely LOVE talking with you guys. I love answering questions, sending kitten updates, sharing my babies, getting to know the families who will eventually love them, and probably talking about Sphynx cats way longer than anyone asked me to. 😂💕 This cattery is incredibly special to me.

But I’m also a wife and a mama, and before any of those things, I belong to God. 🤍

As my cattery has grown, I’ve realized how easy it is for messages, notifications, photos, updates, and the constant feeling that I need to respond right away to spill into every part of my day. I never want something I love so much to take away from the people God has entrusted to me.

So I’m creating a little more intentionality around my time. 🥰

Going forward, my normal cattery hours will be Monday through Saturday, approximately 10 AM to 2 PM. Outside of those hours, I may still pop on, post pictures, or respond when I have extra time, but I’m giving myself permission to leave messages until the next day and be fully present with my family.

And on Sundays, I’ll be completely away from cattery messages and will return Monday. 🤍

Sunday is going to be protected time for God, church, family, rest, and continuing to grow in my faith.

I know we live in a world where we’ve gotten used to having nearly instant access to one another, especially when doing business online. But I also believe the best version of me as a breeder comes from making sure I’m taking care of the things that matter most first.

My kittens will still receive around the clock care, of course. 😂💕 They didn’t agree to business hours.

Thank you for loving my little cattery, loving my babies, trusting me with your future family members, and allowing me to share pieces of my life with you along the way.

I want Laikin’s Purrfect Sphynx to always feel personal. Not like you’re purchasing a kitten from a business, but like you’re joining this little family I’ve built with so much love. 🤍🐾

God first. Family second. And lots of little naked babies mixed in between. 🥰
