Sometimes I just stop and look at them and think about how different each one is. 🥰

Same litter.
Same start in life. 🐾

Yet every puppy already has their own personality.

There's always the brave one who's first to explore something new, the thoughtful one who likes to sit back and observe, the snuggler who would happily spend all day in someone's lap, and the little comedian who keeps everyone entertained.

People often ask me how I can let them go, and the truth is that I don't really think of it that way. I know each one is on their way to becoming part of someone else's story. 💫

For now, though, they're all still here together, completely unaware of the lives that are waiting for them.

And I think that's pretty special.

Meet the twins. 🐾

From Willow’s Tea House litter, say hello to Kava and Lychee. Two sable boys so mellow and snuggly we can barely get anything done around here.

And from Bristol’s Tax Day litter, Liberty and Levy. Two little girls who arrived ready to steal hearts and have not stopped since.

Four babies. Two sets of twins. All the squishy, sleepy, snuggly energy you can handle.

Someone’s world is about to get so much better and they don’t even know it yet.

Wondering if you’re ready for this kind of love? Take the Familiar Bond Quiz, link in bio, it’s brand new and it will tell you everything. 🐶🐶

When I was teaching, there was always that one child that everyone worried about.

The child who couldn't sit still.
The child who was always moving.
The child who seemed distracted, emotional, sensitive, or overwhelmed.

What I learned very quickly was that when we stopped asking, "How do we make this child fit the environment?" and started asking, "What is this child trying to tell us?" everything changed.

Some children needed movement before they could focus.
Some needed quiet before they could participate.
Some needed connection before they could learn.

The more I listened, the more I realized that every child has their own way of moving through the world. My job wasn't to force them into a mold. My job was to understand them.

Years later, I found myself having the same realization with dogs.

The dogs that struggle aren't usually trying to be difficult. They're trying to communicate.

The children who are overwhelmed aren't trying to give us a hard time. They're having a hard time.

That's one of the reasons I've become so passionate about helping families understand both their children and their companions through a different lens. Not a lens of correction, but a lens of curiosity.

Because when we become curious instead of frustrated, we start seeing things we never noticed before.

And sometimes the smallest shift in perspective changes everything.

Something rare just happened at Habibi Bears. Two litters. Two sets of twins. And every single one of them raised with the same devotion that has defined this work for 37 years.

The Habibi Method isn't training. It's the world's first relationship-based philosophy built specifically for conscious families with neurodiverse children — children with autism, Down syndrome, trauma histories, and those navigating healing journeys that most dogs simply weren't bred to support.

Habibi means love. It always has. And these twins were raised inside that frequency from their very first breath. Double the Bond: Twin Habibi Bears Ready to Transform a Family's World

One of the things that shaped me the most wasn't breeding dogs. It was being a teacher.

Long before Habibi, I spent years working with children, including children with special needs. Looking back, I realize that's where I learned some of my most important lessons about connection.

What always fascinated me was that every child was different. What worked beautifully for one child might completely overwhelm another. Some children needed more movement. Some needed more quiet. Some needed more time. Some needed someone to simply sit beside them and let them feel safe before they could learn anything at all.

I think that's one of the reasons I've never fully connected with rigid approaches, whether we're talking about children or dogs. Life just isn't that simple.

The older I get, the more I realize that behavior is communication. A child who's struggling is communicating. A dog who's struggling is communicating. Usually they're telling us something important, but we get so focused on fixing the behavior that we forget to listen to the message.

That's why I talk so much about calm and connection. Not because I think life should be perfect or peaceful all the time, but because I've seen what happens when a child finally feels safe. I've seen what happens when they're understood instead of managed.

And honestly, that's what I see with these dogs too.

The most beautiful relationships aren't built through pressure. They're built through trust. Through consistency. Through feeling safe enough to be exactly who you are.

Maybe that's the teacher in me. But after all these years, I still believe that connection comes first. Everything else grows from there.

A familiar is more than a companion. A familiar is a calming presence. 💫
A trusted friend. A steady heart in a noisy world.

For many of our families navigating autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and emotional overwhelm, the relationship becomes something difficult to put into words.

It's not about obedience.
It's about connection.
It's about being understood.

That's what we call the Familiar Bond.
