๐พ Happy National Dog Day! ๐พ
We spend every day working with some pretty incredible dogs, but we couldnโt do what we do without a very special group of our own.
Today feels like the perfect excuse to give a little extra appreciation to the helper dogs behind Modified K9. โค๏ธ
Riggs โ Our Versatile Youngster
Our 8-month-old Golden Retriever is goofy, friendly, adaptable, and has a unique ability to get just about anyone to play. Heโs still learning the helper-dog ropes himself, developing better communication, obedience, and reliability as he grows, but weโre lucky to have this sweet guy on the team.
Maya โ The Reliable Challenger
Maya brings confidence, structure, extremely sharp obedience - and a little sass. She often helps in more challenging situations when we need a dog who can listen, respond immediately, and stay reliable under pressure.
Freya โ The Peacemaker
Our six-year-old German Shepherd has a really special set of social skills. Sheโs great at communicating boundaries and appropriately correcting another dog when needed without looking to create conflict. Most of the time, sheโs pretty happy-go-lucky and just thrilled to be included.
Max โ The Strong, Steady Male
Mattโs large black German Shepherd brings another kind of confidence to the team. Heโs highly trained, dependable, and gives us a strong, steady male helper when that is exactly what another dog needs.
Different dogs need different things, and between their personalities, energy levels, play styles, and ways of communicating, this crew gives us options we simply wouldnโt have on our own.
We are so incredibly lucky to have them, and today weโre celebrating not just everything they do for us, but everything dogs bring into our lives.
