Martini spent over a year as the longest-term resident at Blue Mountain Humane Society, ready for her fresh start. She had an incredible group of volunteers who absolutely adored her, but shelter life wasn't always easy for this special girl.

Thanks to the kindness of an anonymous donor who sponsored a training opportunity for Martini, she was given another chance to shine. We were thrilled to be part of her journey and help show the world what those who loved her already knew โ€” underneath that big personality was a truly wonderful dog with so much love to give.

Finding the right home isn't always a quick process. For Martini, it was especially important to find a family who would embrace her goofy personality, appreciate her quirks, understand her needs, and love her for exactly who she is.

We couldn't be more excited for this goofy, snuggly meatball to finally have a family of her very own. A place to settle in, be loved, and start making all the wonderful memories that come with being someone's dog.

We want to highlight a very special crew of four: ๐‡๐š๐ซ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ, ๐’๐ฎ๐ž, ๐…๐ข๐ง๐ง, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Œ๐จ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž.

When this family came to us, things at home had become really difficult. There had been multiple fights, injuries, and a growing need to keep everyone separated. Their family was managing a rotation to prevent conflict, but they knew that wasnโ€™t a sustainable long-term solution.

More than anything, they wanted their dogs to be able to ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ฌ๐š๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ.

We started by bringing the two dogs who were having the most difficulty into our program for three weeks. During the final week, the other two joined us so we could begin working toward bringing the entire crew back together.

๐€๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญโ€™๐ฌ ๐ž๐ฑ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐๐ข๐. โค๏ธ

Today, ๐‡๐š๐ซ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ, ๐’๐ฎ๐ž, ๐…๐ข๐ง๐ง, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Œ๐จ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ, safely coexisting with the structure, guidance, and boundaries they needed.

Their family knew they needed help, and weโ€™re incredibly grateful they trusted usโ€”and trusted the process. Their commitment at home, combined with the work these four dogs put in, has made such an incredible difference.

Our Saturday morning Pack Walks are open to the community and are designed to give dogs and handlers a chance to practice around others in a structured, low-pressure environment.

When everyone arrives, we gather near the starting area while giving each dog plenty of space. Weโ€™ll do a quick introduction, go over where weโ€™ll be walking and a few general guidelines, and then weโ€™ll head out together.

Most of the group walks single file, although a few people may choose to walk side by side if they and their dogs are comfortable doing so. As we go, weโ€™ll usually add in a few simple structured exercises to give you opportunities to practice things like walking past other dogs or having your dog sit while others pass. We also try to give tips and feedback along the way whenever we can.

And most importantly โ€” there is no pressure to do everything. You are always welcome to sit out an activity, give your dog more space, or leave early if things start to feel like too much. The goal is for it to be a positive experience for both you and your dog.

Weโ€™ll loop back to where we started and finish with a little decompression time for the dogs. We also hang back for a bit afterward if you have questions or want help with something that came up during the walk.

Our Pack Walks are held Saturdays at 9:00 AM at various locations around Spokane and are donation-based.
