We did a trim on the sweetest little peg legged black capped conure yesterday! She’s got an amputated foot, but that nub doesn’t slow her down at all, she even stepped up with it. We love being able to meet such unique little babies!

Romeo got a fresh toe trim from our friends on the west side of the state, Sir Willy's Grooming! His toes weren’t long, just a bit sharp, but they got him back into shape no problem. Thank you guys for not making me the bad guy!

Here’s two fresh trims from yesterday!

Harley is a blue headed pionus and an absolute sweetheart! She’s owned by a friend and we absolutely love her.

Taz is a blue and gold macaw we just got into the store as a rehome. We’ve been doing trims on her for a couple years now, but we will be sure to keep her on a much more regular schedule once she ends up in her next home. She is NOT currently available, we will have her for a few months while we do a diet conversion and get to know her personality!

🚨 Important information! 🚨

We have some changes coming soon to the store and will have to be more strategic with our trimming schedule. Hope will be purchasing the My First Bird store, so stay tuned for more updates along with a name and logo change!

We will be trying to book more appointments in a day, so if we end up with a day with only one or two appointments, we will likely have to bump those appointments to a later date to get more trims scheduled.

Also, we will now require at least a 24 hour heads up if you need to cancel or reschedule. If we do not receive a heads up, we will charge a $25 cancelation fee. We need to make sure that we make enough money each day to pay Jenny who takes over the store for us. Thank you all for understanding and we’re excited to start this next chapter! Please let us know if you have any questions!

This beak is a result of an unknown past injury, this is our second time trimming her and you can clearly see new, smooth, healthy keratin growing back in. We believe that her beak will be back to almost normal after a few more trims!

We will be in the Post Falls ID area this Wednesday 7/8 and have openings! Please feel free to message us to get on the books!

We did two unique beaks last week!

First up is Ging, she’s a green cheek who had a freak accident in her cage that caused her upper beak to break off. Her mom has no idea where or what in the cage caused the issue, but thankfully she has healed up immaculately! This is our first time trimming her beak, so we left the bottom beak a bit longer just to make sure she can still feed herself. We will adjust length as needed as we trim her more often!

Second we did Chewy, he’s also a green cheek but had a larger bird bite his beak through the cage and broke his bottom mandible in half. He went to the vet and got his first few trims done but we got the all clear for us to start doing them again. Thankfully his bottom beak seems to be keeping itself mostly in check, so we really just had to do a bit of a touch up on his top beak. This was our first time with him too, so we will adjust our trim as we see him in the future!

Unfortunately, due to gas prices continuing to increase, we will now be charging $0.95 per mile we travel. If you have an existing appointment with us, we will honor our $0.85 per mile, but any new appointments will be at the increased amount. We will continue to split the gas fee for appointments in the same area! Thank you all for understanding.

Once gas prices go back down we will lower our price again!
