Hope is getting better and slowly healing. Finally you can no longer see her cannon bone as the flesh as filled in the gap. Photo of leg is day one to May 17th. Her coat is slicking off and getting really shinny and healthy looking.

So Hope is gaining weight slowly and her leg is slowing getting better. You can no longer visibly see her cannon bone.

We are going to name this girl Hope. (Graphic pictures if you have a weak stomach don’t view). Here is a new horse that I will be working on and trying to heal. The guys picked her up from an auction with a wrapped leg being told she had a cut that a vet bandaged. I could smell this poor mare from 10 feet away she smelled like rotting flesh. When I unwrapped her the rot was pouring out from the top and bottom of the bandage with I got the sticky tape pulled away from the skin. I just don’t know how someone can dump a horse at an auction and not have a care where they will end up with a severe leg injury like this. If I had to guess the legs has been wrapped atleast a week if not 2 or 3 with the amount of rot that came pouring out of the bandage and the stench that came with her from 10 foot away. And if you can see she has bone visible. Started with a good cleaning today and started on antibiotics then rewrapped.
