With the weather expected for the rest of the day we are working on contacting the afternoon appointments and getting them rescheduled.

Most of our staff live out of town and we want to get them home safely.

We will have a doctor available for emergencies if you are able to make it to the clinic safely.

Dr. Wendy is retiring. 🎉 She has dedicated 28 years to the care and well being of our patients and clients! We wish her the best as she spends more time with her family.

Her last day will be September 30th.

Help us show our appreciation for all of her wonderful care over the years - we are doing a SURPRISE 🤫 card shower 🥳 If you'd like to send Dr. Wendy a note/card 📖✏️ please send them to the clinic (Animal Medical Centers, 515 11th St. SW. Spencer, IA 51301 Attn: Card Shower). We will be collecting them and presenting them to her on her last day.

We will be doing clinic wide staff training and development this morning.

All emergencies will be handled by our Hartley office (712-928-2151) and we will be back in the afternoon for urgent care and med pickups.

** Update - we have power again! **

Our clinic is currently part of the power outage (no phones, internet or electricity) in South Spencer. SMU is working on restoring power. If you have an emergency please call our Hartley office 712-928-2151.

** Update** we have power back already! Thanks to Johnson Electric for their great work getting us back up and running!

A heads up to our Spencer clients - we need to have some electrical work done on our building that requires us to cut power to the building entirely. Our Spencer office will be without electricity (phone, internet, lights, etc) tomorrow morning (5-6-25) until approximately 9 AM. If you have an emergency during that time please contact our Hartley office at 712- 928-2151. We hope to resume normal service by 9 AM on Tuesday.
