We were able to coordinate a playdate with Randolph County Humane Society for Buzz (Black Mix) to play with Stormy (Yellow Mix). Buzz is available for adoption through Randolph County Animal Control. Stormy is at Randolph County Humane Society.

He is a high-energy, confident boy with a natural leadership personality. Buzz absolutely loves the outdoors and is happiest when he has space to explore, run, and play. Whether he is chasing toys or soaking up attention from people, he is always ready for fun and companionship.

Buzz has been with us at the pound for quite some time, and it is clear kennel life is not where he thrives. While he settles into his kennel without issue, you can tell he would much rather be out enjoying the world and spending time with his people.

We estimate Buzz to be around 3 years old. He would do best in a home with room to stretch his legs and burn off his energy. A secure yard or active lifestyle would be ideal for this adventurous boy.

Buzz does not do well being on a leash for extended periods of time and would not thrive if tethered for most of the day. He needs space to move, explore, and run, making a secure yard the best fit for his lifestyle.

Buzz has progressed during his time with us and has learned several basic commands through consistent training, including sit, stay, and shake. He is also able to catch treats tossed to him and enjoys showing off his skills. Buzz has been doing exceptionally well with obedience training and is eager to learn, making him a great candidate for a home that will continue to build on his training and success.

Buzz is ready to finally have a place to call home, somewhere he can run, play, and be loved the way he deserves. ❤️

We have been receiving multiple inquiries recently regarding rabies tag registrations for canines (dogs).

If your dog was vaccinated for rabies by a veterinarian outside of Randolph County and was not issued a Randolph County Animal Control rabies tag, you will need to obtain one through our office. Additionally, if you recently moved into Randolph County and your dog is currently vaccinated against rabies, your pet must still be registered locally.

Please review the instructions below for the registration process. Following these steps will ensure your dog's rabies vaccination is properly registered with Randolph County Animal Control and that you receive the required county rabies tag.

Even if your dog has already received a rabies vaccination elsewhere, registration with Randolph County Animal Control is still required by law.

Why Registration Matters:
• Confirms your pet is legally vaccinated
• Provides proof of ownership if your dog gets lost
• Helps quickly identify vaccinated dogs
• Keeps the community safer for both people and animals

You Must Register If:
Your dog was vaccinated outside Randolph County
You moved into Randolph County after your pet was vaccinated
You never received a county-issued rabies tag from your vet

Rabies Tag Prices:
• 1 Year Spayed/Neutered — $6
• 1 Year Not Spayed/Neutered — $16
• 3 Year Spayed/Neutered — $18
• 3 Year Not Spayed/Neutered — $48

What You’ll Need to Mail In:
• A copy of your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate
• Payment by check or money order only
-Make checks or money orders payable to Randolph County Animal Control

Once processed, a Randolph County rabies tag will be mailed to you.

Important Reminder:
Even if your pet already has a rabies shot, county registration requirements still apply. A vaccine certificate alone does not replace a county-issued rabies tag.

Please Note:
Your rabies certificate must state whether the dog is spayed or neutered. Many times, this will appear in front of or behind the s*x designation on the certificate:
• SF = Spayed Female
• NM = Neutered Male

These letters may appear either before or after the s*x listed on the rabies certificate.

Thanks to a generous donation from Liz Parker to fully vet Buster, the Boxer who was found as a stray in Baldwin, he was able to quickly secure placement with a shelter that will help him find his forever home!

UPDATE FOR WOODY:

Adoption pending!

We recently received an anonymous donation to help Woody become fully vetted, and thanks to that generosity, Woody went in last week for all of his vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and neuter surgery. He is recovering well and is now fully vetted and ready to find his forever home! ❤️

An adoption fee still applies for the safety and well-being of the animal.

Meet Woody! 🐶

Woody came to us as a stray alongside his brother, and he has been patiently waiting for his second chance ever since. This handsome guy is full of energy and truly enjoys spending time outdoors. He would do best with an active family or a home with a fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and explore.

While Woody enjoys being active, he also has a softer side. After a day of play, he is perfectly content heading back to his kennel to relax on his cozy blankets. It is his safe place, and he settles in nicely. However, kennel life at the pound has been hard on him, and he is clearly much happier when he has space to move around and be outside.

We estimate Woody to be around 2–3 years old based on his teeth. He is at a great age, past the puppy stage but still full of life and companionship to give.

We recently received an anonymous donation from a generous supporter to have Buzz fully vetted, and we are so thankful for their kindness! ❤️

Buzz went in last week and received all of his vaccinations, a heartworm test, microchip, and was neutered. He is recovering well, fully vetted, and officially ready to find his forever home! An adoption fee will still apply for the safety and wellbeing of the animal.
