🐾 HELP US HELP THIS SWEET GIRL 🐾
Her name is ✨Maddy✨
This precious 11-year-old Heeler has been through more than most dogs ever should — and yet she continues to show us just how resilient she is. ❤️
She lost her vision at a young age due to glaucoma and underwent a bilateral enucleation. More recently, she came into our care after fracturing her leg and requiring orthopedic surgery. Unfortunately, her body rejected the metal implants used during the procedure, preventing the leg from healing properly and leading to a persistent infection. Ultimately, the difficult decision was made to amputate her hind leg.
Even after amputation, her journey isn’t over. Her body has been very slow to heal, requiring continued medical treatment, wound care, monitoring, and lots of extra TLC.
She has been with us since June 24th, and during that time she has completely stolen the hearts of our clinical staff. 🥹 Despite everything she has endured, she continues to be such a sweet and incredibly tough girl.
With the extent and duration of her medical care, her family is facing a significant financial burden. They are humbly asking for any donations to help offset the cost of her ongoing treatment and medical bill.
