Sometimes rescue is cuddles, purrs, and adorable little meows.
Other times, it's one chaotic emergency after another.
That's exactly what we've been facing for the last three days.
Last night, one of our fosters had to rush a kitten to see Dr. Paul at Emergency Veterinary Care because it was showing the beginning signs of a prolapse.
Then today, another foster took a kitten to see Dr. Ruff for diarrhea and being lethargic.
Just when we think we're getting through one crisis, another one hits.
Tonight, we have a mama cat and one of her kittens headed to Animal Health Care Center in Panama City Beach for emergency care. Mama came into our rescue a couple of days ago with what appeared to be a small wound on the side of her face. Today, it looks badly infected and may have developed into an abscess that is close to bursting. To make matters worse, one of her kittens has started developing unusual sores on its neck and also needs to be seen.
We're already facing more than $400 in veterinary bills, and we're not sure what tonight's visit will bring.
