Convoy updates. Let’s talk trip preparations and safety.
Plan on straps and more straps on hay. Some of the routes have very rough roads. If you think you have enough straps these roads will tell you that your wrong! More straps are better than not enough. Please do not over load your truck/trailer or be over width/height.
This is over 1200 miles one way, check your hubs, lug nuts, and tires, then check them again. It’s highly recommended to have multiple spare tires for truck/trailer, jacks and tools that can lift your loaded trailer, snacks and drinks, emergency contact information has to be submitted to DRH, extra window washer fluid, extra clothing for yourself. A backup plan if something breaks down and can’t be repaired to get you on road again (DRH will help you find accommodations as we won’t leave anyone stranded without a plan).
If you have not received a volunteer agreement form and have it filled out, please contact DRH immediately so we can get that emailed to you. If you went with us to Oklahoma just recently we already have your information, as long as nothing‘s changed, you do not have to resubmit it.
All drivers should have loads scheduled and hotel rooms booked as of now. If you haven’t got this information please reach out to Levi Foss ASAP. Our goal is everything scheduled and ready by the April 28th.
All drivers will get a contact card at the drivers meeting with trip information, DRH contacts, hotel information, and route details. This information is not to be shared publicly in any form. This protects everyone’s privacy.
Lastly an American Flag must be on the back of every load. Please display correctly and securely so the flag is not covered or damaged on the haul.
All trucks need to be ready to go and at Friendly Express in Ashland Ohio by 6am at the latest on April 30th. Anyone wanting to wish our volunteers off or see the convoy please do so just please park away from the convoy.
Nebraska we are coming!!!
We are in awe at the generosity and support from everyone across the country as we have multiple states going with us again. None of this happens without the amazing support. Thank you is just not enough. This is what we do, this is “Hauling Hope”. 🇺🇸
