Clients: Why Groomers Ask for a 24 Hour Cancellation Notice

Your groomer schedules appointments carefully to make sure each dog receives the time, attention, and calm environment they deserve.

Here is why the 24 hour notice matters.

✨ It allows another dog to take that appointment
When you cancel early, your groomer may be able to offer that space to another client who has been waiting. When the spot stays empty, no dog comes in and the groomer does not get paid for that time.

✨ It protects your groomer’s schedule and livelihood
Grooming days are built around specific dogs booked into specific time slots. Last minute cancellations create gaps that usually cannot be refilled. When an appointment is missed without notice, that income cannot be recovered.

✨ It supports safer, calmer grooming for dogs
A predictable schedule allows groomers to work carefully and without rushing. This leads to safer handling, less stress, and better outcomes for pets.

Life happens. Appointments change and emergencies come up. Most groomers try to be as understanding as possible. Giving advance notice helps keep grooming schedules fair, sustainable, and respectful for everyone involved.
