Ride #14 and another big first for Baby Remi! 🥹🐴💗
At just 3 years old, Remi went on her very first solo hack out of the indoor arena — and she was such a good little baby horse!
We did, however, have to remind her of one very important fact…
The Ninja Turtles do NOT live at Willow Creek. 🥷🐢😂
The regular turtles are just turtles, Remi. They are not plotting against you. Promise.
One of my favorite things about bringing along a young horse is reminding myself that there is absolutely no reason to rush. At only 14 rides, Remi doesn’t need to know everything. She just needs each ride to leave her a little more confident than the one before.
Slow, steady and positive. Give them time to process. Let them look. Let them figure things out. Build confidence instead of forcing it. The goal isn’t to see how quickly we can make a 3-year-old horse do all the things — it’s to build a horse who trusts her rider, enjoys her job and is confident enough to take on new things when she’s ready. 💕
Today that meant leaving the security of the indoor all by herself, exploring a little bit of Willow Creek…and discovering that she can, in fact, survive a turtle sighting. 😂🐢
14 rides down and so many adventure ahead for this sweet girl. 🥹💗
