OUR SANCTUARY HAS BEEN SHUTTERED since the pandemic and we have moved from Bucks County, Pennsylvania to the Catskill mountains in Upstate New York, approximately four hours away from the old location.
I still field several phone calls a week, and if we can help, we certainly will, even if it’s over with a referral or advice on how to handle the problem so that you may be able to keep your animal.
IF you are trying to rehome a rooster, we suggest searching chicken fb groups in your are. They are held very helpful with advice and many are willing to take a rooster to guard their flock or add to a breeding pair.
RESEARCH AND PREPARE FIRST! Most barnyard animals that came to us were the result of impulsive purchases for children and then discarded as quickly as the child lost interest, or because people have been forced by their locale to remove the animals. PLEASE check your local ordinances before you bring you bring home a non-typical pet in a suburban or city location.
Surprisingly, even rural townships have regulations on what type of farm animals are permitted, as well as rules about housing, space, distance from other properties, etc.
I am glad to answer any questions and be as helpful as I can, but again, we are now in the Catskill mountains of New York.
