I want to profusely apologize for no update. I thought this post posted a few weeks ago but to my horror it went to cyber space. I was so disappointed In myself that I kept procrastinating reposting it. I was afraid it would be confusing regarding the Refuge needs. My feelings aside, this was such a great blessing that I had to go for it❤️❤️❤️❤️. Welcome to Cathy’s world, where everything is overthought and sometimes forgot 😜. I want to sincerely thank all those who donated from my last post. The only debt we currently have is our loan (was for feed) and I am hopeful it will be paid in the next few months.

From the Founder: 💕Have you ever had one of those days where you just wanna crawl back in bed and wonder if you have what it takes to make it to the finish line? That’s where I am today. We lost Vanna after a long, five months of treatment to try and fight internal pigeon fever. It was hard and stressful and now my heart is broken because we couldn’t save her. She was a beautiful mare and she really tried to fight. Money has been at an all-time low for donations. We have managed with the help of our sponsors and friends to pay the vet bills and buy the weekly special feed that Vanna needed along with supplements and everything that we could think of to keep her going. I have had to get a loan to cover our feed at the Bangor Feed store and if it weren’t for that we would have closed. We appreciate all that they have done for us over the years, especially letting us carry our bill until donations came in. As it stands right now, Trinity is in the biggest pickle they have ever been in. Harlan has been out of the cubes we normaly feed which means we’ve been buying single bags from tractor that’s a close match. The Hay that we recently bought is not palpable to the horses, and they will not eat it. I have nothing in our accounts to purchase more feed. I have four bales in our horse trailer that are unusable to us. We do have enough grain for the next week. I need your help.. I have got to get money coming in because I personally cannot finance Trinity. If we can’t at least get our feed covered we are going to have to close. I am asking if you read our post can you please share it? Can you please donate five dollars? Can you please encourage your friends and your family to help us? Since we are no longer at Bangor Feed, we have to pay for our feed upfront, that is going to take a little bit of time for us to build our finances up to meet the weekly feed bill which is around $300 a week. There is light at the end of the tunnel for us. Around September or October we will be getting a large donation. We are wading through paperwork right now. We just have to make it till then. We are so grateful for the out pouring of support we received in raising funds for out vet bill. We paid $950 and now only owe $400. Thank you❤️❤️❤️. Yuba College RT program came out for the 5th year and spent the morning with the horses. They did complete exams, bloodwork, fecals, and West Nile on all the horses. Dr. Kyle and some of his students even pooper scooped for Cathy (Cathy has been out of commission since her hip surgery.) One of the students happen to be very uncomfortable around Horses. She was in a group that was treating Vienna our oldest resident (30 yrs young). Vienna is the calmest mare you will ever meet. She’s kind, quiet and loving to everyone. When Jasive left that day she told Dr. Kyle she no longer felt scared and unsafe around the horses. She had no idea that they could be so gentle. Since the Colleges visit, Jasive has been coming out weekly and helping Cathy, learning more and more about these gentle giant’s she was once intimidated by. We never know the depth our residents can help people. We just know they are magical when someone comes needing encouragement, healing or just cheering up. WE NEED HELP!!! This is Cathy, I know it’s been a minute since you have heard from Trinity. I’m sorry about that, trying to take care of the horse’s and dealing with Vannas illness along with my own has been exhausting. I know things are going to get easier but it has been a very trying few months. Vanna and Scout finished three months of a special antibiotics and are doing so much better. Vanna, as you can see lost so much weight, no matter what we tried she literally would not eat. Her appetite is returning and I for one am so grateful. There were many discussions on quality of life but Dr. Saralynn was encouraging to keep trying. I’m so glad we did. She is currently eating Alfalfa hay, grass hay, senior feed, and soaked cubes. Anything to keep her eating and gaining weight back. Along with the extra feed there has been several vet visits, bloodwork, and medications. Both horses need bloodwork again to make sure of their recovery and Scout also needs to be checked for his diabetes. The Refuge is carrying a $1300.00 vet bill and before we add anymore we need to get this paid. I really need help in providing for the horses. It feels like we are sinking a bit and the burden is weighing so heavy. Please help if you can. No donation is to small. If 10% of our followers donated 5.00 it would be paid. I have tried to write a post several times over the last few weeks. I really thought I would be back to my spunky self by now but this recovery has really slowed my body down. Rest assured I am getting back to normal slowly but surely. I fed for the first time this morning and it felt so good to be out with the horses. Faith and Brianna have done an excellent job making sure everyone was cared for over the last 7 weeks. I could not have recovered so well without their help. Through this recovery Vanna and Scout battled cases of internal pigeon fever. Vanna was critical and there were many discussions about quality of life. Scout had ulcerative pigeon fever and suffered with very sore skin, loosing most of his hair on his legs and other spots on his body. I am so grateful to Dr. Saralynn for providing such good care of them. Both are doing so much better and Vanna is starting to regain some of her weight. She is not out of the woods yet but it is encouraging to see her appetite return. Since our last post we have made several trips to the feed store which none have been financially covered. There is also vet bills for Vanna and Scout which include the exams, blood work and a lot of meds that need to be covered. I am praying for a miracle to be able to meet the needs that the Refuge has right now. I am so grateful to you that donate monthly because the Refuge would not be here if it weren’t for you. Would you please share this post and ask your friends to do the same? Comments also help our posts get circulated. I know it’s hard to ask for donations but could you ask for other ways to help such as yard sales, car washes to help get the Refuge out of this red hole they are in. This is Cathy. I am happy to report that i am 17 days post op from hip replacement surgery and happy to report that I am doing well. It has been 3 weeks since I have been able to go out and see the horses and that alone has spurred my recovery, I miss them so much. Faith and Brianna have been holding down the fort while I am recovering and I am very gratefull for their help. Dr. Sara has been out a few more times for Vanna who is still struggling. Her latest test labs show a high titar of internal pigeon fever which explains her liver. Her prognosis is guarded at this time. We can try another round of antibiotics to see if she will respond. Our only other option is hospitization and even with that, her prognosis is poor. Our donations have been down and we are barely covering our basic needs. With the extra expences of Vannas care we are really struggling. If you can help in any way, donating, praying, sharing, telling your friends about our needs, we would be so grateful. From the Founder: I am on my way this morning to get a new hip🥰. I took a fall a few weeks ago and fractured my hip. Things have been a little mixed up here lol. Faith and Brianna are taking care of everyone. My good friend Stephanie from Youthful Courage, Stables and our sweet friend Chelsea who adored Little Red. have also been here helping us get through this. I want to thank those who have donated to keep the Refuge going, you mean the world to me. Our needs currently are still great. Our balance with our vet is 250 for Shorty and 700 for Vanna. Our feed is running about 380 per week due to Vannas special needs. She is fighting a liver infection and has been struggling. I am hoping for a very speedy recovery and am praying all goes well while I heal. If you can help the Refuge in anyway it would be a blessing to us. Thank you again for all that you do.

Message from the founder, I was so hoping that the start of this New Year would have a few less bumps in the road. I am so grateful for the continued support of our donors, with your help, Trinity residents needs where met this last year and our herd is thriving because of your dedication. The difficulties that were faced this last year will hopefully be behind us soon. We have a few hurdles to still get over from the tough year but better times are in our future. We just have to make it through the next few months. Can I ask for your help in our outstanding needs such as our feed bill at Bangor Feed, which is ongoing and grows every week. we have had multiple emergencies this last year and losses. We are still in the red with our vet, our farrier and One Last Ride. Vanna has had multiple health issues and has only been here a short time. She is on a special diet, has had more than one visit with our vet, her teeth were checked, extensive blood work was done and it was found that she has a liver condition which requires a medicine that is $200 a month along with a special diet whis is an addition to what we are already feeding. Scout has also had a rough go
in the short time he has been here with a diagnosis of diabetis and founder. He also requires monthly meds and a special diet. The Refuge is in a rough state due to all the rain and I am desperately trying to get stalls ready for the horses before the next rain as I am looking at another surgery in the near future and need to fet the horses squared away to make the recovery time a little easier. These things are weighing heavy on my heart. I know that the question is always the same , but if you could share, pray, or donate, if would mean the world to me. Things are going to get better this year but I really need your help until relief comes. Thank you and I love you.

Merry Christmas💚 We hope that all of you are blessed this beautiful season. We have had some difficult times here at the Refuge over the last few weeks. Vanna has been under the weather and Dr. Sara is helping us figure out what is bothering her. We said goodbye to our Shorty boy due to his increasing pain from his glacoma. It was really hard to watch such a rock star be in such pain and become so fearful from his limited sight. We are so grateful he was with us, even for such a short time, he was one very beautiful and special boy. The end of the year is fast approaching and we are on our way to get our weekly feed. As of today our outstanding bills include the farrier (150), the feed store (600), and Last Ride for Shorty (300). We know it is Christmas but if you are able to help, even just a little, it would make a huge difference to us. Thank you for standing with us in the easy times and the more difficult times. Our resident animals count on your kindness. Current animals at the Refuge are 6 Horses, 30 chickens (, 2 rescue cats, 1 duck, and 3 dogs. Thank you for making a difference in so many lives.
