Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

🌟 Meet one of our superstars! 🌟 Luna came in to see our Oncology team after a trip to an urgent care for bloody diarrhea also revealed enlarged lymph nodes. Further testing confirmed lymphoma - a common cancer that affects lymph nodes and other organs. Luna was started on a chemotherapy protocol right away in hopes of giving her the best possible outcome. 🩺
We are so happy to report that, after several months of treatment, Luna recently “graduated” from chemo! 🎉 We are absolutely thrilled for Luna and her wonderful family! Congratulations sweet girl!! ❤️

Our Medical Oncology team offers appointments 6 days a week and is proud to be able to offer:
* Chemotherapy
* Sentinel lymph node mapping
* Bone marrow aspiration/biopsy
* Diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MRI)
* ONCEPT Canine Melanoma Vaccine
* Electrochemotherapy

Our Medical Oncology team works hand in hand with our Surgical Oncology team to provide comprehensive, collaborative and compassionate patient care. 🐾

Christy has been an integral part of our hospital in many different roles over the past two and a half decades. She started as a CSR, went on to co-manage the hospital, and now serves as our Experience Manager. She is passionate about client service, training, and finding new and innovative ways to meet the needs of both our clients and staff members. The impact of her drive and dedication is felt throughout our hospital and the VCA network. We truly are grateful to have her as part of our team! ❤️🐾
