Sometimes things don’t go as planned but go exactly as expected…

A pretty different way to approach fear aggression cases with dogs. Especially a 100lb Doberman 😳

Seems to be working well though 🤷‍♂️

IYKYK…

Let’s see what people say in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Let’s see if anyone knows why I’m doing what I’m doing with this guy.

The “out” command is the most crucial command in order to take the games we play to the next level. It’s the beginning to learning the process of how I’ll teach other commands to him in the future, as well as a way to set something rules and establish authority in the games.

As the trainer, when I play these games, I have to be the opposing player, the coach, and the referee. Something that is very difficult and takes a lot of practice on how to be all 3 simultaneously.

But once Vito learns the “out” it opens the door to a whole new way of playing and learning.

First step to rehabbing an aggressive dog that’s based on fear…

Is to not give them a reason to fear you.

Here I’m trying to just show Vito that we can exist in the same space and nothing bad is going to happen.

This is day 1. We had a huge breakthrough day 2 so follow along to see that!

Vito’s aggression almost certainly stems from fear and uncertainty. And after living like that for 5 years, he doesn’t give any warning signals anymore, and doesn’t try any other behaviors than to launch at someone and bite them.

His family has been struggling with this for years and have tried two other trainers in the past. Obviously based on this video to no avail.

I’m going to try and film as much as I can with this guy to take you along his journey.

It’s going to be slow and boring. A lot of sitting around and doing nothing at first until he gets more comfortable with me. But I’m not here for the views or likes.

So the videos are probably going to be longer and not super eventful. But if you really want to see dog training that works, and if you want to see how I address dogs like this. Then come follow along.

Dominance is a word that gets misused and misrepresented all the time in the dog space.

A lot of people think Dominance is bad.

It isn’t…

A lot of people think dominance is aggression.

It isn’t…

A lot of people think a dog that’s an unruly jerk is dominant.

They aren’t, they’re usually just a jerk or a bully.

Dominance is a trait/characteristic that some dogs will naturally posses. It’s part of their personality. It usually comes with other traits like confidence and high self esteem.

All of which are good characteristics to have.

A truly dominant dog is actual more often than not a good thing.

This is because a dominant dog knows its abilities, knows its position on things, will not need to be aggressive to assert itself, and isn’t going to freak out or bite out of fear.

Really the only time it’s a problem is when you have two equally dominant dogs together. At that point there will be a pi***ng contest to see who’s on top.

Such is the way of things in nature. There is always a hierarchy. But dominance is not a bad thing. So let’s start understanding it, and using it properly.
