Dear Future Family,

Hi! My name is Roscoe and if you’ve been following our page you’ve seen me before, since I’ve been looking for my forever home since April! I absolutely love my foster mom, dad, and my foster dog siblings. I especially love Ranger (90 lbs German Shepherd mix) who lets me chew him all over, sleep on top of him and he plays with me all day long. And let’s be real, I can play ALL day long if I’m allowed to. But you know what I would love even more? A forever home who will love me for the REST of my life! (Maybe with a playful big sibling just like Ranger if I’m lucky.) I think I’m pretty great so I’m not sure why I’ve been overlooked. I love meeting new people, even kids, and every time someone meets me they say they love me and talk about how friendly, funny, and awesome I am. The last time I was weighed, I was 17.5 lbs and my foster mom says I look great. Apparently I’m about a year and a half, but since I was found as a stray and spent some time in a local city shelter my history is a “best guess.” My foster mom and dad swear I’m a pug/chihuahua mix, but they really don’t know so what you see is what you get. I let you know when I need to use the bathroom and stay in the crate when my foster parents leave the house. But I love to sleep in bed with them overnight right in the middle, curled up against a human and under the covers! I don’t like long grass, wet grass, or standing outside in the rain. I love chasing squirrels and rabbits so a secure fenced-in yard is ideal, but I am used to being taken out on-leash. One other thing I absolutely love is pumpkin. Call me a basic PSL bitch if you want, but as long as you give me pumpkin with my food or in a frozen Kong I don’t care!

My ideal home is with people who don’t care about personal space, are active, will take me on lots of walks and adventures, and have playful canine sibling(s) for me. I sure hope my forever family sees this post!

We have some amazing dogs looking for their furever homes. From playful puppies to sweet seniors, big personalities to little companions, we have a variety of wonderful dogs waiting for their people.

🐶 Meet our adoptables!

🐾 Hana – 7-month-old female Heeler mix

🐾 Belka – 11-year-old female Corgi mix

🐾 Bella & Bunny – 6 and 8-year-old female Yorkies who are bonded and ideally would stay together!

🐾 Roscoe – 1.5-year-old male mix (Chi/Pug is our best guess), under 20 lbs of love!

🐾 Ziggy – 6-year-old male purebred Labrador Retriever

🐾 Jersey – 8-month-old male German Shepherd

🐾 Corona & Mickey – 6-month-old female mixed-breed sisters, each hoping to find an individual loving home! ((time is of the essence for them before their foster travels at the end of the month))

Just look at this handsome boy! Jersey is an 8-month-old German Shepherd who is just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Already weighing in at 75+ pounds, he's one big puppy!

🐾 A little about Jersey:
💙 8 months old, neutered & up to date on vaccines
💙 Smart, eager and ready to learn
💙 Has lived with other dogs and cats (although chasing cats can be a little too much fun! 😂)
💙 Active and ready to be your hiking buddy, adventure partner, or companion for an active lifestyle!

Jersey is still a young Shepherd learning how to navigate the world. He can be reactive to environmental stimuli, so he needs a home absolutely committed to doing professional training, and an adopter with German Shepherd or similar working-breed experience.

His ideal home would have experienced, dedicated people and, potentially, one or more large-breed female dogs.

Jersey has SO much potential, and with the right guidance, consistency, and commitment, this boy can continue grow into an incredible companion. He's looking for someone who understands his breed, embraces training, and is excited to help him succeed.

💖 Belka | 11 year old Senior Corgi Mix
Belka is currently thriving in her foster home! She’s living peacefully with two other small dogs and is working hard on her weight-loss journey. She’s sweet, gentle, and ready to find a forever family to spend the rest of her days with!

💖 Bella & Bunny | Bonded Pair!
Bella: 8 year old Yorkie
Bunny: 6 year old Yorkie and Bella’s daughter

This mother-daughter duo has a bond, so we are looking for an adoptive or foster home that can keep Bella and Bunny together! 👯‍♀️

Bunny is special needs... She has occasional tremors and has a unique condition (straight leg syndrome) in her back legs. But don’t let that stuff fool you—it doesn’t stop her for a second! Hey everyone! It’s me, Duke, reporting live from camp! Okay, fine… the humans call it a board-and-train program, but honestly? It’s way too much fun to feel like school. I’m officially at the halfway mark, and let me tell you, my brain is getting HUGE with all the smart stuff I’ve learned!
Here is my latest report card:
• Crate Life: Turns out, the crate isn’t a scary monster after all. It’s actually my personal VIP lounge where I love taking glorious naps and getting a full night’s sleep.
• Personal Space: I’ve learned that being alone isn’t the end of the world. Apparently, you humans prefer to go to the bathroom solo... which I guess I’ll accept, even if it feels a little unfair considering you always follow me outside for my bathroom time!
• Leash Manners: Walks are literally the BEST, and I’m a total pro at heeling now. If you’re looking for a top-tier walking buddy who won’t pull your arm off, PICK ME!
• Making Doggy Friends: I’m learning how to stay cool and neutral around new dogs. I really like them, but I’ll admit I can be a little socially awkward during playtime. Just be patient with me while I learn the proper doggy etiquette!
• The Downlow on Cats: Outdoor cats? Totally cool in my book. ✅ Indoor cats? Way too tempting to chase. ❌ (Hey, at least I’m honest!)
• People Fanatic: I love humans of all sizes, including the little kiddo ones!
• Window Watcher: Back when I was in my foster home in a bustling townhome community, I was quiet and loved nothing more than being perched by the window, watching the neighborhood humans and pups go by.

Looking to adopt a Labrador Retriever? 6 year old Ziggy still has a lot of life and s***k, he’s just waiting for his family to see him! Ziggy was raised with kids, and is friendly with people, but prefers to be your one and only pet. Please help us find this boy the home he deserves who will keep up with his weight loss journey. While we think Ziggy’s dream home is an active retired couple, we’re really just looking for a family who is home more often than not because of how much he wants to be with his people. Where are our b**r lovers at?!
Meet Mickey(black/white) and Corona(tan/black/white) are two sisters looking for their own forever homes! They’re estimated to be around 6 months old and seem to look like hound-type mixes! Theyre about 40ish lbs so we’re expecting them to be medium-sized dogs (though who knows!) They’re in a foster home with other dogs, a cat, and have spent time with young children and are great with all! They’re crate trained and let you know when they need to go out to use the bathroom. Both girls are spayed and UTD on vaccines and now they just need their forever homes to find them! We’d love for them to go to homes that are active, take them on lots of adventures and will continue to work on socializing them!
Their foster is traveling at the end of the month so we’re hoping to get them into their forever homes asap! If you think one of these girls would be a good fit, please fill out an application today!

Adoptable Hana is a 6-month-old female heeler mix and around 40 lbs looking for her forever home! She’s so adorable and very sweet. When you meet her you can’t help but fall in love with her. Hana loves people and giving kisses when she’s comfortable with you. She has previously lived with dogs, cats, birds and kids. She is crate-trained and potty-trained. Hana is UTD on vaccines and we’re looking to line up a spay appointment. If she is adopted prior to appt, adopters will be required to bring her to spay appt.

💙 DUKE JUST CAN’T CATCH A BREAK. 💙

Duke came to JDR extremely underweight, unvetted, and with no idea how to be a dog in a home. We thought his biggest challenge would be putting on healthy weight, completing his vetting and helping him learn how to trust and adjust in a new home.

Then we discovered his severe separation anxiety. He needs a 4-week board-and-train program to help him overcome it... Which is $4,000 alone.

But before he could even start training, Duke needed more medical care.

His more invasive cryptorchid neuter (one descended testicle) became problematic when the second couldn't be located, requiring an additional ultrasound (today) after he healed enough. Then he developed a persistent cough that hasn't responded to antibiotics. Today, he went to the vet for his x-rays to determine the cause of his cough (no conclusive results so we are now treating for allergies) and his ultrasound to find the second testicle (thankfully it was found... But next to his bladder)

💔 This boy has been through enough.

JDR is committed to covering his medical care AND his training, but the bills are adding up quickly.

Duke didn't choose his past. He didn't ask for any of this. But we can give him the future he deserves.

BILLS TO DATE:
- 7/27- bloodwork, f***l, vaccine: $230
- 8/19- cryptorchid neuter, vaccine: $380
- 8/21- antibiotics: $30
- 9/4- sick vet visit and antibiotics: $138.48
- 9/15- sick vet visit and antibiotics: $126. 14
- 9/22- more meds: $35.51
- 9/23-sedated xray/ultrasound: $760.71
- 4-week training: $4000

‼️ 🆘 TOTAL so far: $5,700.84**🆘 ‼️

Additional secondary neuter surgery (estimated $760-1250)

🐾 LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER! 🐾

All of these amazing dogs are currently in foster homes, but they’re still waiting for the families they’ll call forever.

Because Jersey Dog Rescue is 100% foster-based, every adoption opens a spot for us to save another dog in need. We can only continue rescuing when our foster homes become available... so adoption truly saves TWO lives!

💙 Ziggy: 6-year-old male Lab. A cool, easygoing guy who just wants to hang with his people and be your one and only pet.

🩷 Peewee: 2 year old Newfoundland. Looking for an active home where she can be the only pet and start training. She's just a big puppy now!

💙 Roscoe: 1.5 years old, about 16 lbs. Kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and does great in nearly every situation. He especially LOVES big dogs!

🩷 Belka: 11 years old, turning 12 in November. Don’t let her age fool you..
she doesn’t act it! Extremely outgoing, friendly, kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
