🚨 URGENT! FOSTER NEEDED IN MD, VA, OR DC β€” ONE‑YEAR‑OLD BICHON IN SHELTER 🚨

We are urgently looking for a foster for Max, a one‑year‑old Bichon who is currently in a Maryland shelter and must be pulled within the next 24–48 hours.

Max is a truly handsome little sweetheart who just lost his family and is desperately hoping for someone to love him. According to his medical records, he was vaccinated and neutered this week, and he is ready to leave the shelter as soon as we have a safe place for him to land.

We must secure a foster immediately so we can get him out of the shelter and into safety. If you cannot foster but are available to transport him to a foster, please let us know - that help is just as urgent.

If you can help, please email us at [email protected]. If you do not already have a foster application on file, please complete one here: https://www.bichonrescue.org/volunteer-foster-application

Please share β€” Max needs someone right away.

🐢🚨 HEIMLICH MANEUVER FOR DOGS: What Every Pet Owner Should Know! 🐾

Choking in dogs is a life-threatening emergency that requires quick action. If your dog is choking and struggling to breathe, knowing basic pet first aid can make a critical difference. β€οΈπŸ•

🐾 Remember these emergency tips:
βœ… Check whether your dog can breathe, cough, or make sounds.
βœ… If an object is clearly visible and easy to remove, carefully remove it without pushing it deeper.
βœ… If the airway remains blocked, appropriate choking first aid may help dislodge the object.
βœ… Seek immediate veterinary emergency care, even if the object comes out.

⚠️ Important safety note: The correct technique depends on your dog's size, position, and condition. Avoid blind finger sweeps, and never lift a conscious dog by its hind legs or apply forceful abdominal thrusts without knowing the proper technique. Get veterinary help immediately.

πŸ“Œ Save this post and share it with fellow pet parents! You never know when this knowledge might save a life. 🐾❀️

πŸ’¬ Question: Would you know what to do if your dog started choking?
