Get ready to get a little messy!

Big adventures start with muddy hands, curious minds, and a little room to explore! Phase 1 of our upcoming Bastian Nature Adventure Park will feature a mud play area where kids can dig in, get creative, experiment, and experience the joy of hands-on nature play.

It will include 4 zones of play that get muddier as you go, because we know some kids will want to get messier than others. And don't worry - we've planned ahead! The park will have wash stations and t-shirts ready to go, so the mud stays here with us.

And this is just a sneak peek of what’s to come! 👀

We can’t wait to bring this space to life and give families a whole new way to play, discover, and connect with nature.

The Bastian Nature Adventure Park is coming soon... get ready!!

🎃MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE BOO BASH 🎃

Location: *NEW* Walton Arena & Youth Livestock Barn at the Bastian Agricultural Center

Details: Join us for a family friendly event involving treats, trunks & barn haunts! The Salt Lake County 4-H Project Ambassadors, along with the Bastian Agricultural Center, will be hosting a Trunk or Treat in the Walton Arena, as well as a pumpkin walk and spook alley in the new Youth Livestock Barn!

Costumes are encouraged, and there will be a fun photo opportunity with some of the Bastian Animals as well! This is a community event, so you don’t need to be a 4-H member or necessarily register to attend, but we do have a ZSuite registration to help count participants and to sign up to be one of the cars for the trunk or treat.

Cars participating need to be parked by 5:45 pm.

If you have been interested in our Youth Livestock Program, this is for you ⬇️

Location: *NEW* Youth Livestock Barn at the Bastian Agricultural Center

For this month’s Curious Clovers club meeting we will be showcasing the new youth livestock barn at the Bastian Agricultural Center! Join us for a Q&A panel with past youth from the Bastian Livestock Program to learn more about what the livestock project entails, try your hand at showing an animal and try out some of our livestock knowledge skill-a-thon stations.

If you are interested in the Bastian Livestock program for 2027 or know someone who might be, this is a great opportunity to learn more about it before the 2027 interest form goes live! It will also be a good introduction to the “animal-less” contests you can participate in such as livestock bowl, skill-a-thon and judging as well!

"This barn was built for you," said Josh Dallin, the center's executive director, to participating youth at the barn's opening. "We're not just cutting a ribbon on another building. We're opening a place where young people are going to learn how to work."

The Youth Livestock Barn at the Bastian Agriculture Center is a new space for young people to raise and care for animals in South Jordan.

A Weber County 4-H community raised more than $41,000 for a nine-year-old boy who missed his first livestock show because of heart failure.
