This , we’re sending a huge thank you to Arvesta Sport Complex for hosting an exciting pickleball tournament on May 31st benefiting the animals at Al-Van Humane Society! 🏓💛

This event is more than just a day of competition. It’s a chance for the community to come together, have fun, and give back. Along with tournament play, there will also be a donation drive for the shelter, with prizes for the team that brings the most donations!

We are incredibly grateful to Lake Arvesta and everyone participating for supporting the animals in our care. Community partnerships like this truly make a difference. 🐾

Gordita Crunch is here with this week’s !

This week, our biggest need is non-clumping clay cat litter. Between all the cats and kittens in our care, we go through more than 350 pounds of litter every single week keeping kennels clean, cats comfortable, and our shelter running smoothly.

If you’re able to help, donations can be dropped off at our Adoption Center during open hours or shipped directly from our wishlist linked in the comments below.

We’re excited to share this month’s membership partnership with Sarett Nature Center! During the month of May, Al-Van Humane Society members can enjoy free admission to explore the beautiful trails and nature experiences Sarett has to offer.

Meet our , Gordita Crunch!

Gordita Crunch is a 5-month-old puppy who is just as sweet and lovable as her sister, Cinnabon. This little girl adores cuddle time and would be perfectly happy curled up in your lap, soaking in all the love and attention she can get.

Like any puppy, she also has plenty of playful energy. Gordita Crunch loves squeaky toys and will happily bounce around chasing them, turning every play session into her own little party before settling in for snuggles.

Meet Tyler, a sweet little Yorkie/Terrier mix looking for a quiet foster home while he recovers from an injury.

Right now, Tyler needs several weeks of cage rest and leash walks only while he heals. While he’s doing well, we would love for him to recover in a calm home environment instead of spending that time in a kennel.

Fostering gives dogs like Tyler the chance to relax, decompress, and heal comfortably while still receiving the care they need. We’ll provide support along the way. If you’re able to open your home to Tyler during his recovery, please reach out to us or apply to foster at al-van.org/foster.

This week, our greatest needs are non-clumping clay cat litter and laundry detergent. It’s essential for keeping our shelter clean, sanitary, and comfortable for the pets in our care, and we go through a lot of it every single day.
