🐾 Why Does My Puppy or Kitten Need ALL of Their Vaccine Boosters? 🐾
We often hear, “My puppy already had one vaccine—aren’t they protected?” The answer is: not yet!
When puppies and kittens are born, they receive antibodies from their mother that help protect them during their first weeks of life. While these antibodies are important, they can also interfere with vaccines, making it difficult to know exactly when a vaccine will be fully effective.
That’s why puppies and kittens need a series of booster vaccines every few weeks until they’re old enough to develop strong, lasting immunity on their own.
Skipping or delaying boosters can leave your pet vulnerable to serious diseases such as:
🐶 Parvovirus
🐶 Distemper
🐱 Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper)
🐱 Upper Respiratory Viruses
🐾 And other preventable illnesses
Think of the vaccine series as building a protective shield—each booster strengthens that protection until your pet is fully covered.
The best way to give your new family member a healthy start is to complete their entire vaccine series and stay on schedule with veterinary visits.
