Yesterday we brought home a trailer full of rescue stuff we had stored in Acworth.

So, if you are looking for blankets for your horses, mules, donkeys, or ponies, we’ve got your 🫏 covered!

Blankets are by donation. Donate a dollar or a hundred. All money goes to our winter hay fund to feed the long ears in our care this winter.

This is a friendly reminder that we are not an open barn. My family and I live here, and this is our private property. If the gate is closed, please respect the Private Property signs and do not open the gate to come in and see or pet the animals. Not only is this extremely unsafe for everyone involved, but it is also disrespectful of our privacy and our home.

We truly love visitors and sharing our animals with others! In fact, next year, we plan to have designated days when visitors are welcome to come out and enjoy them.

Until then, please respect our family’s privacy, keep the gate closed, and do not enter our driveway or property without permission. We appreciate your understanding and respect as we work toward creating a safe and welcoming experience for visitors in the future.

Last week we took Spud on a short trip to his new foster home in Alstead where he will be living with our dedicated farm hand extraordinaire, Laura! We felt that Spud would really benefit from a one on one type of home where he would have one another mule to play with. So far they are doing well together.

We’re excited to see what this new chapter brings for Spud!

Thank you very much to those of you who have donated to Ida May’s emergency care. One of our vets came out last night after hours to give her some IV fluids, as she was showing signs of being dehydrated.

Today she’s perked up significantly, and is back to eating. We are not out of the woods yet but things are seeming a little more hopeful today.

Thank you for sending our girl good juju. She’s been such a trooper. 🤍 🤞🏼

If you’ve been following our stories, you know that Ida-May has been struggling with some health issues over the last couple of days. We are currently waiting for our veterinarians to arrive for an after hours visit to administer IV fluids.

Ida-May hasn’t been wanting to eat over the past week, and her bloodwork is beginning to show signs of hyperlipemia. We are doing everything in our power to help her and encourage her to eat, but we are becoming increasingly concerned about her condition.

We believe this may be stemming, at least in part, from the loss of her beloved companion, Jack, who we had to lay to rest just two weeks ago. 💔

If you would like to donate toward Ida-May’s care during this difficult time, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps us provide the veterinary care and support our animals need, especially when unexpected emergencies arise.

Please keep our sweet girl in your thoughts. We are doing everything we can for her and hoping to see some improvement soon. ❤️
