Obedience training changes 99.9% of the dogs into better behaved dogs, no matter the breed

After nearly three decades, a controversial dog ban has been reversed.

Under the new law, previously restricted breeds can now be legally owned, walked and adopted. The update replaces automatic breed-specific bans with behavior-based standards, shifting the focus to responsible ownership rather than a dog’s appearance.
Supporters say the change addresses years of stigma tied to certain breeds while keeping public safety protections in place.

Just look at this good boy, MJ. Only his 2nd Private Lesson.

He’s a 5 yo Golden doodle terrier mix -
Would pull on the leash - he’s learning to loose leash walk. Needed to learn boundaries - he’s just overly friendly and likes to jump on people.
We are working through all that and to work around distractions in prep for them moving to Miami soon.

Today we did our second day train with Lily 4 1/2 month old - maybe Shepherd mix or we like to say Heinz 57 and Simba an almost 2 year-old toy poodle.
They are not from the same house.
Now last week we did not take them for a walk together at the same time because they were having to learn how to walk nice in a heel.
This shows the progress because this week we went for a walk together and took pictures together. Because they’re not used to being around other dogs because neither one of them have a dog in their household and had no real boundaries with other dogs. They just wanted to play. And it’s not a bad thing that they wanna play but they have to have boundaries and learn that they don’t get to go say hi and play with every dog. Today they really learned today too walk together nice and leave each other alone be respectful. In the process, we were able to get some nice pictures of them sitting on different places together. We also worked on Long leash work, leaving them sitting on place and calling them for the recall and heeling them with the long leash dragging the ground, which just proves out how well their understanding of heel is.
Super proud of how they’re progressing

Group Class Success - Saturday 5/30/26
Everyone did great!! Lots of great pics.

We always do the foundations of the obedience training, and working through the distractions of my noisy annoying chickens. Then ,we did a pack walk down the bike/walking path and through the nature trail.
Every class brings improvement.

Come to middle
Eye contact with their leader while I use distraction toys
Loose leash Heeling with a loose leash Sit
Sit and leave it while playing co****le

Many proud moments for me as their instructor.
I’m proud that they showed up and they clearly have been working their dogs outside of class.

This is a six month old Dutch Shepherd, Maximus. He came from I believe somewhere around North Carolina as a litter through a rescue. They had not had him very long and he was pretty shut down and scared wouldn’t even leave their driveway to go walk down the street. But I knew at the evaluation he was going to get it very quickly because I had him walking down the street in the short 10 minutes of working with them.
We did a private lesson to get them started. They were tired over the next few weeks until today and it made the day train start just awesome because he is a very smart dog and he picked up the training very quickly. We’re still working on building confidence and some self-control. He wants to say hi to everybody and loves dogs so introduced him to Blu today and he just is the happiest friendliest sweetest dog. I can’t wait to see where he goes through this training and even after through group classes. Kudos to his family for putting in the work and knowing that they have to be consistent.
Dogs love boundaries they love to know that they’re doing right and they love clarity and that’s what we do

Group class was small but powerful.
We work on healing with no leash pressure, place cot work and holding the sit, heel with sitting the dog in motion, backing the dog up and went on a short pack walk. Thank you for bringing Ro, Ro and Zoro. Zoro is the large lab and has never been to a class before and he did pretty darn good for the first class. RoRo is always a star.
