If you feel your horse is "fresh" prior to getting on, do some pre ride ground work, move em around. I like to do this with a saddle on so they can feel the stirrups, rope and what ever other tool you may have on your saddle flap around against them! Transition your horse from a walk to a trot to a lope or a run.
