Dear Valued Pet Spa Clients,

It's with a heavy heart and the utmost gratitude we bid farewell to Alison MacDonald as she embarks on her journey as the full-time manager and head trainer of the Pet Republic Cambridge, where she has been an employee for many years.
Seventeen years ago, Alison and I opened the doors of Pet Spa! Since that day, she has been the most loyal, honest, hardworking person I know.
If you and your pet were lucky enough to have worked with Alison, you know that she treated all the pets on her table with the same love and kindness she did her own.
It has been nothing but an honor to have been with Alison the entire span of her grooming career. I have always been amazed at how she could make a poodle or doodle look like it just stepped right out of the show ring! Her attention to detail is what separates her from the rest.
She is nothing short of a perfectionist, and it showed. We will all miss seeing her beautiful smile and hearing her infectious laughter daily.
Alison will always be part of the Pet Spa family and will forever remain a dear friend. We wish her all the best in her new endeavors! We could not be more proud and happy for you, Alison!

Hi Pet Spa folks! We hope you are enjoying your summer! We are glad to be back in the swing of things and just wanted to send out a few reminders as we know everyone is still getting use to a new way of doing things.

Due to the high volume of requests for grooming we ask that you call the shop for an appointment as opposed to messaging via Facebook. This will make it easier for us to keep the list of who we need to get back to more organized.

When you arrive for your appointment please come to the door and ring the bell, please do not call as we are not always able to get to the phone.

After ringing the bell please allow a minute or so for someone to get to the door as we likely need to remove a dog from our table to secure them before we can get out front.

We do ask that everyone wear a face covering at drop off and pick up.

We are looking forward to seeing you all and your pups!

Current Store Protocols:
For your pet’s upcoming appointment, please note the following:

* Human clients will NOT be allowed to enter the building at any time
* All human clients must wear a FACE COVERING at time of drop-off and pick-up

While Waiting in Line

* We ask that only one client at a time approach the door and ring the bell
* Please remain six-feet apart (Pet Spa will place distance markers outside to assist in the line formation process)
* Please be courteous to others and wait until they have exited the steps before approaching the door if you are next inline

Drop-Off Protocol

* Please ring the doorbell when you arrive at the door and step back, someone will be with you shortly
* All dogs must be leashed with a collar or harness or in a carrier

Communicating with the groomer

* All grooming instructions can be given over the phone when you make your pet’s appointment or sent via email to [email protected]
* Instructions can be given at the door while maintaining social distancing
* Please be respectful of your groomer’s time by keeping the communication brief!

Pick-Up Protocol

* Due to all the new safety protocols put in place to keep our clients and staff safe, we ask you to be flexible with your pick-up times
* A Pet Spa employee will call you 30 minutes before your pet is ready for pick up
* When you arrive, please follow the distance protocols outlined above, and ring the bell when it is your turn in line
* We have placed the Square Credit Card Reader outside to accept credit card payments(cash payments also welcomed)
* Only digital receipts will be available at this time
* All essential information regarding your pet’s health and behavior will be communicated to you on the pick-up phone call

Cash Payment

* Cash payment is accepted if that is your preferred method of payment
* A Pet Spa employee will run the money through a UV sanitization process as required by local authorities at closing time
* If you prefer to use cash as payment, we ask you have the correct amount as Pet Spa will not be able to provide change at this time

Tips

* As always, service tips are much appreciated!
* Tips can be gifted in cash or electronically via Venmo

We are posting to inform you of our new pick-up/drop-off protocols. The protocols are designed to keep everyone safe during this difficult time. Our goal is to still provide the best and most comfortable service for your pet while meeting and exceeding the recommendations of the CDC and local authorities for minimizing the transmission of the virus.

For your pet’s upcoming appointment, please note the following:

* Human clients will NOT be allowed to enter the building at any time
* All human clients must wear a FACE COVERING at time of drop-off and pick-up
* All communication with Pet Spa employee’s will take place over the phone or via email; face-to-face conversation is not permissible at any time

While Waiting in Line

* We ask that only one client at a time approach the door and ring the bell

* No face-to-face communication is allowed at this time under any circumstance
* Written notes are not allowed at this time under any circumstance
* After your pet is safely inside the building, a Pet Spa employee will be available for a brief phone call for any clarifications to previously received grooming instructions
* Please be respectful of your groomer’s time by keeping the communication brief!

Pick-Up Protocol

* Due to all the new safety protocols put in place to keep our clients and staff safe, we ask you to be flexible with your pick-up times
* A Pet Spa employee will call you 15 minutes before your pet is ready for pick up
* When you arrive, please follow the distance protocols outlined above, and ring the bell when it is your turn inline
* A Pet Spa employee will greet you through the door (door will remain closed) and begin the check-out process
* We have placed the Square Credit Card Reader outside to accept credit card payments (a cash payment option is available, see cash payment section below)
* After your credit card payment has been received the door will open and your pet will be handed to you via the leash
* Only digital receipts will be available at this time
* As with drop-off, there will be no communication while the door is open
* All essential information regarding your pet’s health and behavior will be communicated to you on the pick-up phone call

Bad Weather Protocol

* In the event of rain, the Square Credit Card Reader will not be available outside
* A Pet Spa employee will manually process your credit card over the phone when we call to notify you that your pet is ready

Cash Payment

* Cash payment is accepted if that is your preferred method of payment
* Cash envelopes will be available for your use at the door
* Please place the cash in the provided envelope and insert it through our mail slot located half-way down in the door
* A Pet Spa employee will run the money through a UV sanitization process as required by local authorities at closing time
* If you prefer to use cash as payment, we ask you have the correct amount as Pet Spa will not be able to provide change at this time

Tips

* As always, service tips are much appreciated!
* Tips can be gifted in cash or electronically via Venmo
* For cash tips, please use the tip envelopes available at the door (please have the desired amount available as change can not be made at this time)
* For Venmo tips, we have attached laminated paper outside the door with each groomer’s Venmo QR code, name, and picture for your convenience

NEW UPDATE:
So based on the information we have about the city of Somerville's regulations we will plan to be open by June 1st (provided nothing changes between now and then).

Again, we have appointments that had to be canceled when we closed, we will be rescheduling those first. Then I will be contacting people in the order that their messages were received.

I know everyone is really anxious to get their pups in and we are looking forward to seeing all our puppers but we really appreciate everyone's patience as we work on getting everyone on the books.

UPDATED:
So it looks like Somerville has a stricter set of regulations than the state so we are still waiting for the go ahead from them to open. As soon as we know when we can open I will start calling people. To those who have emailed and FB messaged I did get you on the list, I just cannot possibly respond to every message but I did get yours. I know everyone is anxiety get in for an appointment but with 150+ people to call back I really appreciate your patience we will get everyone scheduled as soon as we are able.

Good afternoon Pet Spa people! So it looks like we will be reopening on 5/26.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we do have quite a long list of appointments that need to be rescheduled from when we close as well as responding to voicemails/messages/emails.

I do not always get notifications for responses to posts so if you comment on this I likely won’t see to put you on the waitlist.

Also be sure to include your phone number and breed of dog, I am not at the shop but am doing this from home so I do not have access to everyone’s information.

If you have already messaged but are unsure if you left your phone number please do so- there are too many messages for me to go through and request a phone number.

Again we appreciate your patience as we navigate how to operate in our “new normal”.

Hi folks! We hope everyone is doing well, that you are all staying healthy and sane!

I just wanted to clarify as there has been some confusion as to whether or not we are open. For the health and safety of our employees and because under the stay at home regulations grooming is classified as non essential we are not open.

If you have tried calling the shop to no avail I am certain our answering machine is full, but I am making a waiting list of people contacting us through FB.

When we do return we will first be rescheduling the appointments for those we had to cancel when we shut down before getting to the appointments for people who called/message through FB.

We will be updating our page once we do know when we will be reopening and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Again we are offering free 15 minute Zoom consults to review proper brushing technique as that is the first and most important step you can take until we are able to see them.
