📣 EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
The R***r Project: Sharing Our Story 🐾

I’m so excited to finally share something a little different for The R***r Project.

A huge thank you to Tracy, the Practice Manager at Spinnaker Veterinary Clinic, who came up with the idea for this event and invited me to be a part of it.

On Saturday, November 7, I’ll be sharing R***r’s story; how losing him led to the creation of The R***r Project, what we’ve been able to accomplish in his name so far, and the dreams and goals I have for where I hope to take this project in the future.

And this event won’t just be about R***r’s story. Veterinarians from Spinnaker will also be speaking about cancer in our pets, helping educate pet owners about a disease that far too many of us have been touched by. 🩺

For my part, I’ll talk about the dog behind all of this… our 3,017 days together, R***r’s cancer diagnosis, losing him far too soon, and how trying to find somewhere for all of that love to go became The R***r Project.

I’ll also be sharing what comes next: the animals and people we hope to help, the places we hope to reach, and my long-term dream of eventually bringing acts of kindness in R***r’s name to all 48 contiguous states he traveled during his life.

What started as a way for me to survive losing my best friend has grown into something I never could have imagined, and we’re really just getting started.

There will be refreshments, a raffle, and some R***r Project merchandise available, so come spend some time with us, learn, ask questions, and help us continue doing good in R***r’s name. ❤️

Tracy, thank you for seeing something in The R***r Project, for dreaming up this event, and for giving me the opportunity to share R***r’s story alongside veterinary professionals who can help educate others about the disease that took him from us. It means more to me than you know.

Good morning and Happy 4th to all! 🇺🇲
Just a few friendly reminders to keep everyone safe and happy today! With the heat index and humidity the past several days it's best to keep pets indoors where it's cool and away from loud noises. Play calming music or white noise for distraction. Make sure ID tags and microchips are up to date, and refrain bringing pets to firework shows. Create a cozy, quiet space where they feel content and safe. More pets unfortunately go missing today from all the excitement. Let's make sure everyone has a good time today, including our furry friends during the festivities 🐾

With the extreme heat watch in effect starting Wednesday morning until Saturday evening we wanted to remind owners to please keep pets indoors with air conditioning, never leave any pets in cars, avoid hot pavement, and limit any outdoor exposure such as walks to early mornings or late evenings. Pets cannot sweat to cool down and are highly vulnerable to heat exhaustion and fatal heatstroke..especially brachycephalic breeds such as French Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, etc.

With the upcoming holiday approaching and potential for fireworks for our patients that require any type of calming medication we kindly ask that all requests are placed and picked up by July 2nd. We will not be dispensing any medication on Friday, July 3rd.

Today we take time to reflect, give thanks, and show respect in memory of the people who served and stood so bravely in service of something greater than themselves. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice..your light will continue to guide us ❤️🤍💙

As a reminder our clinic will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. We kindly ask that anyone need written prescriptions or in clinic med pick up to please let us know by Thursday, May 21st. All requests need to be received by Thursday as pick up for either will not be available on Friday, May 22nd. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We wanted to send a friendly reminder that our Chewy and 1800 Pet Meds online portal will be inactive beginning on Friday, April 24th.

To better serve you we ask that you please utilize our clinic direct online pharmacy.

We understand that some clients may still prefer using an outside pharmacy. To support you, we will provide a written prescription that you can take anywhere.

To help ensure accuracy and safety we kindly ask you to provide 72 hour notice to give our team time to review dosage and history.

Pick up person: Collect the original, signed prescription directly from our clinic.
