Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue is an effort grounded in love, dedication and determination. The dream of establishing this rescue started back in 2000 when a very special dog, Coco, passed away unexpectedly at age 5. The loss inspired Coco’s owner, 12 year-old Ashley, to save other canine friends in his name. Ashley and Coco had been the best of friends and it is in his name that this endeavor lives on…. CHDR depends on private donations to function and rescue friends in need.

Hello! Looking for a little fidget to brighten your days? I'm your girl! From my velvety-soft ears to my adorable puppy strut, I'm the complete package.

Right now, my favorite things in life are playing, toys, and snuggles. I haven't met a dog who didn't become my best friend within minutes! If another pup wants to play, I'm all in. If they're not feeling playful, I'm learning to respect their space and keep myself entertained with a toy. Pretty smart, right?

I love people just as much as I love dogs. If you wanted to carry me around and cuddle all day, I definitely wouldn't complain. Being close to my humans is one of my favorite things.

My potty training is going great! I sleep through the night in my crate and keep it nice and clean. During the day, I go outside every couple of hours and know exactly what I'm supposed to do. I'm also discovering how much fun walks can be. I keep up with the big dogs and am getting better every day at avoiding tangled leashes and puppy clumsiness.

My foster mom says I'm an adorable little sweetheart who's going to make a lucky family very happy, and I have to agree. I can't wait to meet my forever family and start our adventures together!

Welcome to Coco's Heart Max!

Max here! I am 9 weeks old beagle/dachshund mix, weighing in at 9.21 lbs.

I am very small, and everyone just loves to pick me up and give me lots of smooches. That makes me happy and my tail won’t stop wagging.

I came to my foster family with my sister Molly.

We had bubble baths and foster mommy was impressed as we sat so nicely. Then we played outside chasing each other. That’s one of our favorites! Boy, did we fall asleep for naps after that!

Foster mom says will be working on-going potty outside. Walking on a leash and sleeping in our kennels. Also giving her lots of snuggle time!! That’s her favorite.

We really appreciate snacks and bet we will learn to sit for a treat immediately!

I am so excited to find my family.

Please get me soon, you won’t want to miss out on puppy kisses!

Foster or forever home needed for Siku!

Siku is a 6-month-old female malamute/german shepherd mix, isn't she a beauty? Her foster mom loves her so much, but her puppy/teenager energy is proving to be a lot for the humans and dogs in the home. We're looking for a new place for Siku where she can have a playmate to burn that energy, and also work on having an off-switch when it's time to settle down 🙂 She is an amazing dog who just needs the right place to thrive!

Things to know about Siku:
-Enjoys kids
-Great snuggler and nap partner
-Goofy personality that will always make you laugh
-Already spayed and up to date on vet care
-Siku does have a prey drive so a home with cats is not recommended!

We know it's a late night post but we hope to catch you before heading offline for the holiday weekend!

Check out these absoutely adorable litter of puppies. They were born in rescue mid-July to the beautiful Momma Roya (who will be posted for adoption soon too!). Her babies are each so unique and sweet in their own ways and are quite photogenic, don't you think?!

Powerball needs good luck send his way 💔 This little chihuahua puppy is really sick, requiring around the clock fluids and monitoring. We are praying he can pull through and make a full recovery, the next 24-48 hours are critical. We’re *extremely grateful* for his care team, making sure he is comfortable and stable; providing him care and love too.

Donations towards his veterinary care make a HUGE difference, we have been hit hard of late and every donation big or small helps so much.

Wire Kennel donations needed!

We are looking for wire kennel donations! Gently used or new kennels of all sizes wanted!

These kennels will help provide safety to our dogs in rescue and for those coming to us in the near future. Kennels are used to provide safe travel. From the kennels being used in the transport van, being the first step to making it to rescue, on the way home from intake, transporting to vet appointments or going to meet a potential adopter to providing a cozy safe place to sleep at home. Kennels are essential for our rescue dogs!

If you can help by donating, you can drop off kennels at Angels Pet World in Hudson, or at or office in Somerset WI.

You can also shop our amazon wish list (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1U3CAT2OE4LFX?leftNavSection=Public&ref_=abls_lnv_pu) to send kennels our way for the dogs in need.
